This National Volunteer Week, we want to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our incredible CVITP volunteers! đź’™

From completing intake, to filing tax returns, to warmly greeting clients at our tax clinics—your time and dedication make such a meaningful difference!

Because of our CVITP volunteers, individuals in our community are able to access the tax related benefits and credits they are entitled to and get connected to the community services and resources they need.

Your contributions make a lasting impact, and we’re so grateful for everything you do!

Thank you!

Support is on the way for Canadians.

The first Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit payment arrives June 5, 2026, a one-time GST/HST credit top-up equal to 50% of your current benefit.

Starting July 3, 2026, the new benefit replaces the GST/HST credit with 25% higher quarterly payments for the next five years, supporting more than 12 million Canadians.

✔️ Up to $1,890 for a family of four in 2026
✔️ Up to $950 for a single person

If you received the GST/HST credit in January 2026 and filed your 2024 taxes, you’re eligible.

November is Financial Literacy Month!

This year’s theme is “Talk Money", a call to action to encourage open conversations about money across Canada, breaking down the stigma that often surrounds financial discussions.

Talking about money with others can provide opportunities to learn new tips and resources, which can increase financial knowledge and confidence and can ultimately lead to better financial decisions.

To kick off Financial Literacy Month, we want to hear from you! Stop by the office anytime on November 4th between 9am-6pm to complete our Quality of Life- Community Wellness Survey and receive a $25 Giant Tiger Gift Card.
