Today we're celebrating our four-legged friends who bring so much joy, comfort, and unconditional love into our lives.

At Community Living Central York, we've been lucky to experience that magic firsthand! From spending time with the wonderful St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog team to enjoying an unforgettable Puppy Yoga session filled with wagging tails, puppy cuddles, and lots of smiles, our canine companions have a special way of brightening every day.

Whether they're offering comfort, encouraging connection, or simply making us laugh, dogs have an incredible ability to bring people together.

Today we’re recognizing the humanitarian workers who provide critical support to people affected by conflict, disaster, and crisis around the world.

Their courage, compassion, and commitment remind us of the importance of supporting people through difficult circumstances and ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and care.

At Community Living Central York, we believe compassion and inclusion are essential to building stronger communities. Today, we honour those carrying these values into some of the world’s most challenging circumstances.

Today we're celebrating the incredible work nonprofits do to make our communities stronger, more inclusive, and more connected. But here's the truth...

We couldn't do it without you.

Every donation. Every monthly gift. Every sponsorship. Every grant. Every corporate partnership. Every volunteer hour. Every event ticket. Every share, like, and conversation about our mission—it all makes a difference.

There are so many amazing organizations doing important work, and we're deeply grateful you've chosen to support Community Living Central York and individuals with diverse abilities.

Because of your generosity, individuals with diverse abilities are finding opportunities to build skills, foster independence, pursue their goals, and experience a true sense of belonging in our shared community.

Today, we're celebrating the power of nonprofits—but even more, we're celebrating the incredible community that stands behind us every step of the way.

Thank you for believing in inclusion. Thank you for believing in belonging. Thank you for making it all possible.

Happy National Nonprofit Day!

Everyone deserves the opportunity to make their own choices, pursue their goals, and live a life that reflects what matters most to them.

At Community Living Central York, we know that independence looks different for everyone. For some, it may mean finding meaningful employment, learning new skills, building relationships, living more independently, or becoming more involved in their community. Every step forward is unique, and every milestone is worth celebrating.

This National Disability Independence Day, we recognize the importance of creating opportunities, reducing barriers, and supporting individuals with diverse abilities as they build the lives they choose.

Self-care looks different for everyone.

For some, it's enjoying time in nature. For others, it's creating art, exercising, connecting with friends, learning a new skill, or simply taking a moment to recharge.

At Community Living Central York, we're committed to supporting individuals with diverse abilities to make choices that promote their health, independence, and overall well-being. Every person deserves the opportunity to care for themselves in ways that are meaningful to them.

Today, we're celebrating the importance of self-care—and encouraging everyone to take a moment to do something that supports their physical, mental, or emotional well-being.
