Saturday October 4th & Sunday October 5th 2025 The NGA was first formed in 2009 to the organize the inaugural Newmarket Studio Tour.

The Studio Tour was created to address the lack of opportunities for visual artists in Newmarket. Working with the Town of Newmarket and Main Street businesses, the 2009 Newmarket Studio Tour was a success. There were 25 visual artists in 16 locations centered around Newmarket's Historic Downtown core.

The memory of pulling the dial around to each number, and waiting for the whirl to snap back and go to the next number. Calling someone was a process, make one mistake and you had to start the whirling process all over.

Only to get a busy signal. Start again.
The connection to someone, with the cord wrapping around your finger as you paced, stood, squatted for as long as the cord would allow. Listening for the click of a sibling picking up the line to eavesdrop in on the conversation.

Candy Apple Red is a nod to the nostalgic, the feeling of connection.
