I want to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you my Rotarian Friends and friends of Rotary a Happy Canada Day 2022. I hope you will enjoy a long weekend with friends and family and find some time to relax.

For those who are not familiar with Rotary, July 1 is the beginning of the New Rotary Year and this year we celebrate the New RI President Jennifer Jones from Windsor Ontario, the first female President in Rotary's history. This year the Rotary Theme is Imagine Rotary and together we will be doing just that over the next twelve months.

This coming Monday evening, July 4, 2022 our club will be joining together at Cachet Supper Club at 6:00 pm with some members of the Interact Clubs Rotary Club of Newmarket sponsors. Guests are welcome to join us and learn more, just send me a message.

For those not familiar with Interact, these are clubs for youth in High School and these young leaders will be presenting on their experiences at the recent Rotary Youth Leadership Symposium, you're not going to want to miss this evening!

If you cannot join us live, please join us on ZOOM beginning at 6:45 pm. The link will be provided below but, should you be able to attend in person, please let me know before noon on Monday July 4 so we can have the room set up to accommodate all who are coming.

Thursday April 21, 2022, Rotary CLub of Newmarket organized a day to pack emergency Medical Kits at the Oakville Office of Health Partners International Canada for Ukraine. 5 Rotary Clubs participated and together we packed 80 kits that represents $540,000 in medications going to Ukraine to assist the victims of the war.

April 21, 2022, members from the Rotary Club of Canada and frieds along with members from District 7070 clubs gathered in Oakville at the warehouse for Health Partners International to pack medications to be shipped to Ukraine. Rotaryians packed 40 kits of medications representing $240,000 in medications.

The Rotary Cub of Newmarket has the tradition of awarding our Past Presidents with a Paul Harris Fellow after their term. Christine Burchett of Burchett Law in Newmarket served as president 2 years ago and in the midst of COVID 19 we were delayed in presenting this prestigious award to Christine.

Last Friday, it was my honour to visit Christine in her office and present her with her first Paul Harris Fellow recognizing her service to our Club, Community and the world beyond.

Holiday Dinner 2021, as we gathered together, it was an appropriate time for our Foundation Chair Anitra Basant-Sisavang to present a Paul Harris plus 2 to President Richard Mewhinney.

Having just ended Foundation month, it was a good reminder to all present the importance of supporting the Rotary FOundation.
