What an incredible morning for the 23rd Annual Mark‑a‑thon HERO Walk! 🌟
Thank you to EVERYONE who came out today to walk, cheer, volunteer, sponsor, and support A Place Called Home. Our community showed up with so much heart — and it truly made this year’s walk unforgettable.
A huge shout‑out to Dave Illman - Radio Host from Y91.9 FM, Councillor Mark Doble, and all councillors who joined us. Your leadership and presence meant so much.
Endless gratitude to Mark Fevang for his unstoppable dedication, even while recovering from an unexpected leg injury. We walked for you today, Mark.
We are also incredibly grateful to the Lindsay Farmers' Market. Since, who not only welcomed us into their wonderful space for the start of the Mark‑a‑thon, but also donated an amazing $1,000 to support the work of A Place Called Home. Your generosity and community spirit set the tone for the entire morning.
Thank you as well to our amazing supporters:
💛 BioPed Footcare for your generous sponsorship
🍕 Pizza Hut in Lindsay for the delicious pizza lunch
🏦 RBC in Lindsay for the Communities Together Fund grant to help support this event
🚲 Active Transportation Advocates Kawartha Lakes - ATAKL for helping us spread the word
🍻 The Coach & Horses Pub for welcoming our walkers with warmth and hospitality
🎶 Brian Gowan for opening the walk with powerful, inspiring bagpipes
🪙Valu-mart for holding Toonie at the Till to help raise funds for Mark's walk
👏 And our Mark‑a‑thon Committee and volunteers — none of this happens without you.
If you were not able to attend the walk but still want to help Mark Fevang reach his goal of raising $10,000, donations can still be made at: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/3016
Today, our community walked with purpose. We walked with heart.
And together, we walked for home. ❤️👟
