Sir Sam Hughes Branch #67, Lindsay, Royal Canadian Legion, has lowered its flag to half-mast in solemn remembrance of those who lost their lives and those who were injured in the tragic incident at CFB Wainwright, Alberta.
Today, we pause to reflect on a loss that reaches far beyond a single base or community. News of this tragedy has deeply saddened Canadians from coast to coast, especially those who have worn the uniform, supported a loved one in service, or lived within the military family.
On behalf of the members and veterans of Branch #67, we offer our sincere condolences to the families, friends, and fellow service members mourning the loss of their loved ones. No words can ease such profound grief, but we hope they find strength in the support and gratitude of a nation that stands beside them.
To those who were injured, we extend our heartfelt wishes for healing, recovery, and comfort in the days ahead.
Military service is built on courage, duty, and a commitment to something greater than oneself. The bonds formed through that service are lifelong, and when one part of the military family suffers, we all feel the weight of that loss.
We also recognize the dedication and professionalism of the first responders, military personnel, and healthcare teams who answered the call in the midst of this tragedy. Their actions reflect the very best of service and compassion.
To the members of CFB Wainwright and to all serving and retired members of the Canadian Armed Forces, know that the community of Lindsay stands with you. We share in your sorrow, honour those affected, and remain united in support during this difficult time.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
Lest We Forget. π¨π¦
