Critter Care Wildlife Society is accepting interns for the winter season!
Has it always been a dream of you to work closely with wild animals? Are you passionate about helping those in need? Are you looking for your next great adventure? Look no further – Critter Care has 𝙏𝙃𝙀 opportunity of a lifetime. We are currently accepting last minute applications for our internship program & co-op program!

What do we offer?
- Hands on experience with lots of variety of wildlife beautiful British Columbia has to offer
- Feeding neonate, adult and juvenile animals
- Informative lessons and team building
- Opportunities to work with unique and rare mammals
- Properly being trained on capturing and containing wildlife
- Room and board provided (internship only)
- Participation in building projects and maintenance
- Assisting with rescues and releases of wildlife
- Administering medications, first aid and wound care
- Reference letter at the end of your internship
- A lifetime of great memories & friends!

What are we looking for?
- Minimum 18 years old
- Hard worker who’s not afraid to get their hands dirty
- Passionate about animals
- No 9-5 mentality
- Enthusiastic and a real team player
- Previous experience is a pre, but not a must

An update from our team: A skunk recently brought into our care from Vancouver has tested positive for rabies.

While this sounds alarming, we want to reassure our community: this is extremely rare, and everything has been safely handled by our trained staff following strict protocols. Public safety has not been compromised, and our facility remains secure.

Our main goal is education, not fear. It’s easy to jump to conclusions when an animal is acting unusually, but many common wildlife illnesses and even severe injuries can mimic neurological signs like disorientation or lethargy.

Here is what you should keep in mind:
🐾 It’s rare: Positive cases in our local wildlife population are exceptionally uncommon.
🐾 Lookalikes: Distemper, severe vehicle strikes, poisoning, and advanced parasites can cause animals to display uncharacteristic behavior, staggering, or aggression
🐾 Keep your distance: As always, enjoy wildlife from afar. Never approach, feed, or attempt to handle wild animals, especially if they appear sick or injured.
🐾 Protect your pets: Ensure your domestic dogs and cats are up-to-date on their rabies vaccinations.

Shower time, bear style! 🐻💦 These cubs at Critter Care are getting a refreshing rinse, and those little faces say it all. A splash of water, a few friends, and absolutely no towels required.

Thank you for helping us care for these bears as they grow toward a return to the wild. Even the soggy moments are worth celebrating! 💚
