nd find stillness. Kerith Pines, our M̲a̲n̲i̲t̲o̲b̲a̲ Kerith Retreats centre, is located approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes East of Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 103 acres of pristine conservancy land. Surrounded by mature forests and situated away from major roads, the retreat centre is located in the midst of a jewel of preserved wilderness. Surrounded by the calm of nature, our retreat centres offer the space to truly find stillness. Recognizing the value of stepping away from the crowds for a time, as Jesus did, we have intentionally structured the retreats to include time for you to pray, reflect, and refocus as you let your mind slow down. For your comfort, each guest suite is furnished with a fireplace, private bathroom, king- or queen-sized bed, kitchenette, and sitting area. In order to ensure that you're able to enjoy a truly restful experience, meals are included in your stay and served by the retreat hosts. Our desire at Kerith Retreats is that you experience real rest in God during your stay here and that you leave empowered by the time away, the teaching, and the one-on-one sessions with the program directors.

Moms, we see you and we appreciate you. Happy Mother’s Day 💛

We pray that God will meet you wherever you are in your motherhood journey – in the joy, the exhaustion, the waiting, and the everyday moments that often go unseen.

You are deeply valued and deeply loved, today and always.

Happy Mother’s Day!

He is risen!

The grave is empty.
Jesus has won the victory over sin and death.

Because he lives, we have new life, new hope, and a future secured in him.
Today we celebrate the greatest news the world has ever known.

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.”
John 11:25-26a

Today we pause and remember the cross.

The day love looked like sacrifice.
The day Jesus chose the cross for us.
It felt like the end.
But God was already writing the victory.

The cross reminds us that no sin is too great, no hurt too deep, and no person too far gone to be reached by his grace!

Have a blessed Good Friday!

What does it mean when [someone] says, “God is good?” How are we to emulate him in that goodness?

Goodness has an element of being morally upright in both character and in action. It indicates a positive striving for what is right. This would also be evident in one’s actions and in how one treats those around them. Serving and generosity are practical ways of living out what it means to demonstrate goodness. Think about how you have been served and had generosity extended to you by the Lord. Now think about how you can be that for those around you. Take note of how you serve your family, your neighbours, your congregation, and those you encounter each day.

Who are your level four friends?

“Level four friends” as described by Jerry and Mary White in their book, Friends and Friendship are “those few people to whom we pour out our souls, sharing our deepest feelings and hopes.”

Who are your level four friends – those you can openly and honestly confide in, and who will faithfully support, encourage, and sharpen you?

If you have them, thank the Lord for them. If you are having trouble identifying those kinds of friends in your life, make that an urgent matter of prayer and then expectantly trust our faithful God to provide such faithful friends.

Pride hardens our hearts, whereas prayer softens them.

As we sit with Jesus, listening to him, looking at him, and loving him, he nurtures in us a slower, more compassionate response to others. The words that flow out are shown to be pure, good, and gentle.

When we are around people that overflow with the fruit of gentleness, it is memorable and wonderfully refreshing. I encourage you to abide with Christ today and ask him to begin the work of cultivating gentleness in you.

Does gentleness mark my life? In public? At work? At church?

Gentleness is a relational virtue that Paul frequently links with humility and patience (Ephesians 4:2; Colossians 3:12). It governs how we speak, correct, and lead: “Let your gentleness be evident to all” (Philippians 4:5). This visibility suggests that gentleness is not hidden (and maybe not as overlooked as I initially perceived); it should mark our public witness and our private interactions.

Gentleness, like all fruit of the Spirit, comes from abiding in Christ. The closer we remain to our Good Shepherd, the more his character shapes our own.

Happy New Year! ✨

From all of us at Kerith Retreats, we hope you and your loved ones have a 2026 filled with God's abundant blessing, grace and joy!

Our world celebrates the loud and the bold, but gentleness often goes unnoticed. Yet when you experience it, it stays with you.

Gentleness is easily overlooked, perhaps because our world, communities, and even our churches are loud, fast paced, and boisterous. We are drawn to the big and bold, but gentleness is more subtle and simple, and yet more profound.

When you encounter it or are the beneficiary of it, gentleness stays with you and leaves a resounding impact on your life.

The reason I’ve found it to be so profound is that gentleness is not natural. It’s the product of the Holy Spirit’s work in a believer’s life.

Merry Christmas from all of us at Kerith Retreats!

No matter what this season looks like for you, there is a peace available that truly surpasses understanding — a peace we find when we seek God’s wisdom and walk the path he sets before us.

We pray you and your loved ones sense his loving presence in a special way today as you reflect on the true reason for the season.

12/23/2025

Some years a Christmas tree goes up without much thought. Other years, life is busy, heavy, or financially tight, and a tree simply isn’t a priority. But looking back, those “different” Christmases had a beauty of their own.

Because Christmas was never meant to hinge on decorations, budgets, or perfect traditions. It’s centered on a story of hope — God stepping into our world in the most humble way.

If this season looks different for you — less decorated, less picture-perfect, maybe even a bit weary — remember this: Christmas hope doesn’t depend on what you’re able to set up. It rests on what Christ has already done.
