Hardware Shoutout 🥉 2026 is shaping up to be a colourful year for U17 Velocity. Despite missing their lone second-year player this weekend and fielding a young roster that includes several 2011s and even two 2012s, these athletes proved that age is no barrier when you have big hearts and even bigger dreams. Facing a tough draw in their first tournament of the season, Velocity opened strong with an impressive win over the Delta Pink Panthers. Saturday presented valuable learning opportunities, and the team finished round-robin play with a solid 2–2 record. In the semifinals, they squared off against NL’s Phoenix and were narrowly defeated 3–2 in a tense defensive battle. Undeterred, the team regrouped and delivered a strong performance in the bronze medal game, avenging an earlier loss to the Delta Mavericks. A special thank you to Paula Kolisnek and the Delta Fastpitch Association for hosting an outstanding tournament. Friendships were formed, rivalries began to take shape, and the future is looking bright for U17.
