WE DID IT! 🎉After 12 incredible years, our BMO Ride for Cancer community has crossed the final finish line, and what a fantastic finish it was! Our Grand Finale year is the biggest fundraising achievement in our history.

In our 2026 year, we've raised more than $4,141,960 net (and counting!) for cancer care in Nova Scotia. This record-breaking total includes an unprecedented $2-million matching gift from the J&W Murphy Foundation, the largest matching gift BMO Ride for Cancer has ever seen.

To every rider, volunteer, donor, and all who touched this Grand Finale year…take a moment and let it sink in. You REALLY did that!

Because of you, this year's funds have brought three extraordinary cancer care priorities to completion. We couldn't have asked for a more fitting way to close out our final event: we're going out with a BANG!

Today we celebrated epic Rides and funds rallied by our 2026 BMO Ride for Cancer community at our Grand Finale Finish Festival! Together, we’ve brought several local cancer care projects to the finish line. 🎉🏁

After 12 years, we are just SO proud of this community. For all of the funds raised. For all the stories shared. And for all the reasons put into action to transform cancer care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre through the QEII Foundation.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts to our entire community for supporting our final, Grand Finale event. Thank you, BMO for believing in our mission as our title sponsor. And thank you, riders, for gearing up and peddling one last time for local cancer care. Our Finish Festival is in full swing as Riders cross through our Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia Celebration “Milk Way” and to the finish line after their epic Grand Finale Ride!

At our Finish Festival held just outside of Hallmark Dental Lab, enjoy live entertainment, delicious food from Murphy Hospitality Group, the Family Fun Zone from Doane Grant Thornton Careers, a gourmet hot chocolate dairy bar from Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia and so much more! Our Grand Finale event day is in full swing with riders crossing the finish line for the final time. What a beautiful day to finish what we started for local cancer care. 🍂☀️

Our amazing surrounding community is what has, each year, made the special magic of this event happen. We’d like to give a tremendous thanks to Cyclesmith for being our rider’s mechanical support, to Lawtons Drugs for replenishing riders with hydration stations, and to HARVEST Clean Eats 🥑 for amazing food and drink. Our volunteers supported by Siemens Healthineers are working hard to pull off this incredible day, and Wagners is promoting safety for everyone on the road, trail and everywhere in between. We couldn’t do it without you! 🙌🚲

It's here...our BMO Ride for Cancer GRAND FINALE event is underway. Participants are embarking on their last ride to finish what we started for cancer care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.

After 12 years, this beautiful day is the perfect one for our final ride and is already filled with special moments. The Berkeley Retirement Residences Bell of Hope is being rung at every staggered start by a rider whose life has been touched by cancer, inviting riders to pause, honour those who inspire us, and carry the heart of the event into our final ride together. 💙

We’re waiting at our finish line with our Grand Finale Finish Festival, celebrating and reflecting on everything this incredible community has done for local cancer care. See you soon! 🎉🚲

📣 Calling all spectators! Are you showing up to cheer for riders on our GRAND FINALE event day at our incredible finish line? Summit Airport Parking will once again be providing shuttle transportation for spectators who require additional support accessing our event grounds. Peep the map for designated pick-up and drop-off locations at the top of Hobsons Lake Drive at Susie Lake Crescent and the finish line area.💙📌

Inside the QEII’s Molecular Diagnostics Lab, clinicians see the impact that our BMO Ride for Cancer community makes for local cancer care firsthand.

Since the QEII Foundation's first BMO Ride for Cancer in 2015, the event has helped fund more than a dozen cancer care projects at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.

For the Molecular Diagnostics Lab, that impact includes the Illumina NextSeq 2000 genetic sequencer, which analyzes tumour samples from patients across Atlantic Canada.

Dr. Michael Carter, an anatomical and molecular pathologist and Medical Director of the Molecular Diagnostics Lab, has watched the difference that technology has made.

“Donor support through the Ride has really turbocharged our ability to help provide precision medicine and targeted therapies for cancer patients,” he says. 💜 Read more:

Suzanne and Andy are a husband-and-wife team from the Valley, riding the 100km trail option in our BMO Ride for Cancer Grand Finale.

The couple, like so many of us, have felt the impact of cancer. In 2024, Andy went through treatment for hairy cell leukemia, a rare form of blood cancer, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.

They know personally how support during a cancer journey can be life-changing and motivating and are wholly dedicated to paying it forward.

“Our team is small, just the two of us to be exact, but I’m determined to give back to the hospital that saved Andy’s life,” says Suzanne. 💙 Read their story:
