Prostate Cancer Centre

Prostate Cancer Centre We're committed to early detection, education, and saving lives in Alberta.

Prostate Cancer Centre is a not-for-profit dedicated to men's health, offering research, support programs, and the MAN VAN®, Canada's first mobile men's health clinic. While 1 in 6 men in Alberta will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime, not all men are fortunate enough to have access to the Prostate Cancer Centre. The Prostate Cancer Centre is a revolutionary made-in-Calgary s

uccess story unique in North America. The Centre is independently operated, and funded entirely through the generosity of donors and sponsors. The Centre is entirely patient-focused; guiding and supporting men through the entire process. Comprehensive programming starts with encouraging men to get checked, providing a mobile early detection clinic, offering educational programming, medical treatment, after care, counseling and includes research and advocacy.

What an incredible morning at the Prostate Cancer Centre's Men's Wellness Breakfast. 💙

We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate, support, and advance men's health in our community. Together, we shared meaningful conversations, heard inspiring stories, and reinforced an important message: no one should face prostate cancer alone.

A special thank you to our corporate partner, RBC the proud Presenting Sponsor of the Men's Wellness Breakfast. 💙 Their ongoing commitment to advancing men's health and supporting initiatives that improve the lives of men and their families helps make events like this possible. We are grateful for their leadership, partnership, and dedication to creating healthier communities.

Thank you to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, partners, and guests, we are able to continue supporting prostate cancer care, research, awareness, and patient programs. Together, we are helping ensure that men and their families have access to the resources, services, and support they need throughout their cancer journey.

Thank you to Dr. John Dushinski for sharing valuable insights into the physical and mental challenges men may face following a prostate cancer diagnosis, and to Vicki Hutton for sharing her heartfelt story of supporting her husband, Glenn, through his prostate cancer journey. Your perspectives reminded us of the importance of education, support, and open conversations.

We were also pleased to recognize for his ongoing advocacy and commitment to raising awareness for men's health. His reflections on the progress made in prostate cancer care and the work still ahead served as an inspiring reminder of the impact that awareness, research, and community support can have on outcomes. We would also like to thank our sponsors and partners, including McCarthy Tétrault & Shane Homes and all those whose support helped make this event a success.

A special thank you to our Wellness Fair Sponsors, TELUS Health and Re*****on Development Corporation for helping create a space where attendees could connect with valuable resources and organizations dedicated to supporting men's health and well-being.

We are also grateful to our Wellness Fair presenters, Men's Shed, Carbon Psychology, headversity, TELUS Health, Canadian Mental Health Association - Calgary Region, and Chartwell Retirement Residences for sharing their expertise, resources, and support with our guests throughout the morning.

A sincere thank you to the sponsors and partners who generously contributed raffle prizes, helping make the event even more memorable for our guests. We would also like to extend our appreciation to the outstanding team at the Fairmont Palliser for their exceptional hospitality, service, and support in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for everyone in attendance.

Finally, thank you to our guests, donors, volunteers, community partners, and supporters. Your commitment helps us continue changing the conversation around men's health, funding critical programs and services, and ensuring that every patient knows they are not alone.

Together, we are making a difference. 💙

What an incredible day at the 3rd Annual Pucks for Prostates Tournament! A huge thank you to F.E.T Multilift Solutions and Curtis Goulet for their leadership and dedication in bringing this event to life. 🏒💙

Together, they raised an amazing total of $20,942 in support of prostate cancer care, research, and awareness at the Prostate Cancer Centre.

We would like to congratulate Dr. Gotto and the PCC Research Team on the publication of the landmark TALAPRO-3 study in the New England Journal of Medicine and its presentation at ASCO 2026.

This international Phase 3 trial demonstrated that combining talazoparib and enzalutamide significantly delayed disease progression in men with HRR gene-altered metastatic prostate cancer, marking an important advance in precision oncology.

This achievement reflects the PCC's ongoing commitment to advancing research, improving patient outcomes, and bringing innovative therapies to men living with prostate cancer

James is one of the many fathers that was experienced how important early detection is!
More than 20 years after his prostate cancer diagnosis, James Bowman is now giving back to the community that supports men facing the same journey he once did. 💙

Diagnosed at just 48 years old, James understands the fear, uncertainty, and difficult conversations that can come with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Today, as a volunteer with the Prostate Cancer Centre’s biopsy support program, he’s helping patients feel less alone during some of their most vulnerable moments.

From sharing his own experience to simply listening, James reminds men that support, understanding, and connection can make all the difference.

“Once they realize you’re there to listen, the floodgates open up.”

Stories like James’ are a powerful reminder of the impact peer support and community care can have on a patient’s journey. Thank you, James, for continuing to support men and families through compassion, empathy, and lived experience.
