This National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June), Community Accessability takes time to reflect on our shared histories and recognise the ongoing importance of reconciliation in the communities we support.

We acknowledge the strength, resilience and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities and recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing journey, one that requires listening, learning and meaningful action.

At Community Accessability, we are committed to continuing this journey by fostering respect, cultural awareness and inclusive practices in the work we do every day.

We encourage everyone to take the opportunity to learn more and reflect on how we can all contribute to a more respectful and inclusive future.

On Thursday night, Community Accessability had the privilege of attending the Wodonga Volunteer Awards, where the amazing contributions of volunteers across our region were recognised.

We are incredibly proud to announce that our Community Transport Volunteer Team was awarded the Wodonga Volunteer Team of the Year!

This award is a testament to the dedication, care, and compassion our volunteers show every day β€” helping people stay connected, access essential services, and remain active in their community.

To our wonderful team of Volunteers: thank you for everything you do. You truly make a difference, and this recognition is so well deserved.

Not all heroes wear capes β€” some are behind the wheel, lending a helping hand and a friendly smile.

National Volunteer Week may have passed quickly, but one week of appreciation is simply not enough for the incredible contribution our volunteers make every single day. Even thanking you throughout the year never feels enough.

Today, we want to take another opportunity to say thank you!!

Without our volunteers, Community Accessability would not be what it is today. Your time, generosity, compassion, and kindness make an extraordinary difference to the clients and communities we support across Victoria every day.

We especially recognise the vast geographic areas our volunteers travel and support, helping people remain connected, included, independent, and cared for. Your dedication creates meaningful impact in the lives of so many people.

To every one of our volunteers β€” thank you for everything you do. We truly appreciate you.
