An amazing response today. ONLY 14 tickets left. Thank you to everyone who has brought a ticket. If you haven’t brought a ticket yet and you would love too you can still buy a ticket in the pro shop (cash only). You don’t have to be a member to buy a ticket. And you don’t have to be there to win.

As a joint effort by the Vet’s, Women’s, and Men’s committees, take pleasure in presenting the 2026 WINTER MEGA RAFFLE!

The tickets are for sale in the Wodonga Golf Club pro shop for $50 each (cash only). EFTPOS machine will be available this Saturday 8 am - 12 pm and next Wednesday 8 am - 12 pm. The raffle is a ‘Last man standing’ format with over $3,000 available in prizes for the winners. A limited number of 200 tickets will be available. Tickets available until the 6th September 2026.

The best part is…your $50 raffle ticket gets you a wrist band that provides access to finger food and drinks at happy hour prices during the normal happy hour period.

You don’t have to be present to win, but you’ll miss out on a couple great hours of suspense, food, drinks, and a room full of your new best friends…if you win.

Funds collected through the 2026 Winter Mega Raffle will go toward the purchase of trophies, pictures and honour board entries for this year’s club champions in October. Any extra funds will go toward efforts to SAVE THE GOLF COURSE from rezoning.

UPDATE: RESPONSE RECEIVED TO SAVE THE WODONGA GOLF COURSE PETITION

Today we received the Minister for Planning’s formal response to the petition calling on the Victorian Government to reject the proposed rezoning of the Wodonga Golf Course.

The Minister does acknowledge the concerns and potential impacts raised by the petition. What she does not do is respond substantively to those concerns; she doesn’t address the 18-hole viability argument, community value, open space, heritage, alternatives for housing, or the petition’s actual request that the Government reject rezoning.

While we are disappointed that the response does not directly address many of the significant concerns raised by our community, there are some important points we want everyone to know.

The Minister has confirmed that the Wodonga Golf Course has been deemed eligible for assessment through the Victorian Government’s Unlocking Strategic Sites Program.
Importantly, the Minister has also confirmed:
“Eligibility for this program does not constitute approval.”
The Department of Transport and Planning is now requesting further information to undertake its assessment of the proposal.

The response states that consultation will occur with key stakeholders including Wodonga Council, government agencies and affected landowners, and that submissions received during the consultation process will be considered.

What it does not provide is any commitment to broad public exhibition or explain how the wider Wodonga community will be given the opportunity to have its voice heard. Based on the response stating that consultation effectively excludes the general community we will strongly advocate with council their role in representing the community they serve.
For us, that matters.

Thousands of people supported this petition. The future of approximately 75 hectares of established recreational green space is not an issue that affects only adjoining landowners or golfers, it has implications for our entire community and future generations.

So our work continues…

We will now be seeking clarity around the assessment and consultation process and how our community can formally participate.
The proposal has not been approved.
The future of the Wodonga Golf Course has not been decided.
And we will continue advocating strongly for the retention of our 18-hole golf course and for the community to have a genuine voice in what happens next.
