Many thanks to all who attended the SARNEVA AGM last night. After a problematic start for ZOOM attendees (humble apologies), I think we had a productive meeting. The bottom line appears to be a continuation of the InterTown Squash Competition, potentially supplemented by some racquetball action. Thanks also to those who called and emailed their thoughts prior to the meeting. Looking forward to 2026!

Like to watch elite level squash? Or maybe you’re looking for some top-level coaching to lift your game against your local rivals? Or perhaps both?

Two opportunities are available over the next few days to see Rex Hedrick and Tate Norris in action.

- Wednesday Sep 17 at Bright Sports Centre at 4 pm.
- Friday, Sep 19 at Commercial Club Albury at 6:30 pm (Coaching at 2pm).

- Wednesday Sep 17 at Bright Sports Centre. Rex Hedrick, Australian No 1, and Tate Norris (Australian No 17) will play an exhibition match between 4pm and 6pm when they will be joined by local, Thomas Nash. Afterwards relax at the Bright Brewery at 8 pm.
- Friday, Sep 19 at Commercial Club Albury. Coaching available between 2-6:30 pm when the exhibition will be played. Fees are $10 for adults, $5 juniors. This also covers the coaching option. BOOKINGS essential with Mark on 0466 080212. Club amenities are available afterwards.

Results of the Round 3 matches in the Geoff Hunt InterTown Squash Competition:
- Leeton (12) defeated Wagga (3)
- Cowra (3) lost to Yass A (12)
- Wodonga (9) defeated Benalla (1)
- Milawa and Commercial Club have deferred their match to a later date if possible.
All teams reported an enjoyable day of squash, regardless of the overall scores. Wagga was the only club to field a junior player, young Jack Sheargold.
Round 4 is scheduled for June 22.
- Benalla hosts Albury Commercial Club
- Milawa are at home to ASRA
- Wagga travel to Cootamundra
- Yass B are home to Yass A

Geoff Hunt InterTown Round 3 is scheduled this Sunday. Albury Commercial Club is hosting Milawa Racquets Club, while Wodonga is hosting Benalla. Up north, Cowra is home to Yass A and Leeton is hosting Wagga. Results next week.

Round 2 of the 2025 InterTown Squash Geoff Hunt Shield happens this Sunday. Wodonga hosts Albury Commercial Club, while Cootamundra entertains Leeton Squash Club. Benalla and ASRA have re-scheduled as has Cowra and Yass B.

The Wodonga Open PSA, Graded and Junior Squash Tournament is next on November 16 & 17. This has traditionally been a great, fun event at the end of the year when kids can play at the same event as their parents! The PSA section offers $1500 for each of Men and Women's Divisions. RIGHT BALL CAMPAIGN - many of us believe very strongly that too many players (especially new recruits) are discouraged by trying to use the double yellow dot ball when they should be using a red or even blue dot. In the UK there is a whole campaign devoted to convincing players, coaches and club managers to use the "right" ball (https://squashmad.com/tag/right-squash-ball-campaign/ ).
