What an incredible Relay For Life weekend! Wagga Wagga is country town, overflowing with heart, generosity, and community spirit.

Together, this community raised an amazing $70,000 over the weekend, while spending a beautiful day connecting, remembering, celebrating, and supporting one another. These photos truly capture what Relay For Life is all about.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, walked, volunteered, donated, and took the time to be part of something so meaningful. Your support helps Cancer Council continue funding vital cancer research, prevention programs, support services, and treatments for cancer patients and their families across Australia.

Celebrating 25 years of Illawarra Relay For Life💜

The Illawarra community came together for an incredible Relay For Life weekend raising an amazing $66,000 so far, with fundraising still continuing.

A huge thank you to everyone who walked, donated, volunteered, shared their stories, and supported the event. Your commitment helps Cancer Council continue supporting people affected by cancer and funding vital cancer research, prevention, and support services.

Penrith Relay For Life... WOW, what a weekend! 💜

Our overnight event at Harold Corr Oval saw an incredible 562 relayers come together in support of Cancer Council NSW, with an amazing $125,000 raised.

Thank you to everyone who spent their weekend walking laps, donating, volunteering, and getting involved in our wonderful community. Your support, generosity, and dedication to the fight against cancer is truly inspiring.

New projections from the Daffodil Centre estimate that the number of Australians living with or beyond cancer is projected to rise from 1.66 million in 2025 to more than 2.6 million by 2050.
This reflects progress in cancer research, early detection and treatment. It also means more people may need treatment, monitoring and ongoing support after cancer.
Looking ahead, precision cancer prevention aims to help us better understand cancer risk earlier. This could support earlier action to help prevent some cancers or find them sooner; reducing the future impact of cancer on people, communities and Australia’s health system.

A major step forward for early prostate cancer detection in Australia.
Newly released NHMRC-approved 2026 Guidelines for the Early Detection of Prostate Cancer provide evidence-based recommendations to support PSA (prostate-specific antigen) testing, including how often to test and the appropriate next steps when results are higher than expected.
📣“Men were often left in the wilderness and didn’t really know what they should be doing in relation to prostate cancer," says Prof. David Smith, Prostate Cancer Stream Lead at the Daffodil Centre.
The guidelines, supported by evidence-based data from the Daffodil Centre, a partnership between Cancer Council NSW and the University of Sydney, released by the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, will help clinicians and patients make more informed decisions while strengthening early detection efforts nationwide.
