📉Encouraging news for NSW!
New research from Generation V**e, a project led by Cancer Council NSW tracking and exploring va**ng among young people, shows fewer teens are taking up va**ng — a promising sign that stronger controls and changing social norms are making a difference.

We believe no one should face cancer alone.💛

It's estimated around 169,000 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer this year - and many of these people (and their loved ones) will need support.

Sutherland Relay For Life brought together over 1200 relayers, 98 amazing teams, and raised over $390,000 in the fight against cancer. The track was full of hope, remembrance, and community spirit from start to finish.

Mum-of-one Christina and her daughter generously shared their story with us on how their special relationship got Christina through a stage three breast cancer diagnosis, after losing her own mother to uterine cancer.

📲Christina also leaned on us for support and we are thrilled that she is doing very well now (make sure you swipe to the end!). If you or someone you love needs support, call Cancer Council on 13 11 20.

It’s that time of year again, as we acknowledge May and the beginning of Relay For Life. Relay began in 1985 when Dr Gordy Klatt ran 83 miles over 24 hours to show what people facing cancer endure. Just one year later, it became a team event — and from there, the movement grew. Relay For Life arrived in Australia in 1999 and is now held over 24 hours in thousands of communities across more than 20 countries. To date, over 4 million participants worldwide have raised more than $6.8 billion, creating a truly global impact in tackling cancer together 💜
