The Mini Kitty Commune are not your average rehoming organisation, we provide quality outcomes for rescued cats and kittens. This means indoor homes, high quality food, the leading vaccinations and all animals are desexed before adoption. We maintain relationships with our adopters, sponsors and volunteers so that the cats have the best outcome. We are a no kill organisation that helps hundreds of

abandoned and neglected cats. 100% of your donations go to the animals in vet bills, food, medical supplies and housing equipment. We don’t have fancy offices, committees or expensive wages and our staff are all volunteers. By donating or bequesting to the MKC, you can be sure your money goes to good use to helping those that cant help themselves. We also help other foster carers who are rescuing across NSW by assisting with marketing and support to rehome. These guys are doing it tough, they are the real face of rescue and normally have been begged and pushed to take on animals then left with no help. We do not charge carers/rescuers anything. Our reward is helping the cats find homes and making space at the carers

We cant pay your vet bills for you . . Occasionally you will see us promote a fund raise that someone else has set up but that is rare. Im sorry, we get asked nearly every day to pay peoples vet bills for them (sometimes from Vets!) and we just cant. We have a single kitten rule, we dont adopt kittens without a companion cat. Kittens are social animals and their behavioural development and social welfare can be compromised if they do not have another cat to learn and grow with. Bobbie is a healthy, beautiful young lady with the most eye-catching shimmery coat, a stunning mix of tabby and calico.

Bobbie adores her foster mummy and gets very excited when they hang out together. Expect dramatic carpet flops, happy meows and plenty of laughs!

She loves pats down her back and chasing toys is her absolute favourite pastime. And Bobbie is your perfect puzzling partner!

Bobbie would thrive in a calm, loving home with someone who understands that trust is earned and once it is, it’s incredibly special. In return, Bobbie promises affection, entertainment and lots of personality. 💕

She has previously had one feline friend, and they got along well, though she hasn’t been tested with multiple cats.

😺Sydenham - Cat feeders Needed😺

Looking for locals who are willing to help feed a well-established Sydenham street cat colony.

Ideally someone who can commit one day a week or a fortnight if we have enough vollies.

Food can be supplied and you will be introduced to the colony by one of the long-term feeders.

This is a wonderful volunteering opportunity to help homeless cats and make new friends with like minded cat lovers.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we advise that our sweet soul Phoenix left our world.

It really is beyond our belief that her frail body blessed us with so many days but in the end the fight was just too much.

She was found in the wee hours of the morning right with her mum, she was still warm so I hadn’t been long since she had passed.

We cannot thank everyone enough for their prayers, well wishes and donations it really means the world to us.

There are just some kittens that take a toll on our hearts and Phoenix is one of those kittens.

Phoenix there is so many MKC kittens and cats waiting for you over the rainbow bridge and we truely thank you for coming across our path it was such an honour.

We all adore you 😞

Six hours of sleep, and the house managers want overtime.

So apparently we’re letting cats approve engagements now. Cool. Great system. No notes.

Wampa (also answering to Pepe Chips, because of course) has decided the fiancé is acceptable and has immediately escalated to full-bedroom occupation. Not “sleeping near you.” Sleeping on top of you. Like a furry weighted blanket with opinions.

Also: the comments section casually drops that THIS CAT IS JOLENE. Love when a cat shows up with more aliases than a cartoon criminal. If your household feels like it’s being run by a tiny supervisor who’s auditing your relationship status… yeah. That checks out.

Small but important glow-up: Wampa went from “new situation” to “I live here and I’m stacked on the humans” which is basically the highest level of domestic confidence.

Community moment: everyone instantly agreed that if the cat approves, the deal is sealed. Romance is dead. Long live Jolene.

If you’re giving flowers to a cat mum this Mother’s Day, please read below.

Lilies can KILL cats. Even a tiny amount, a nibble of a flower or leaf, a lick of pollen from their fur or floor, or even drinking the vase water, can cause sudden, fatal kidney failure.

Every year, emergency vets see tragic cases after well-meaning flower deliveries arrive in homes with cats.

Lilies may be beautiful, but for cats they are one of the most dangerous plants there is.

🚫 Why they’re so risky:
• All parts of true lilies (Lilium and Hemerocallis species) are toxic, including the petals, leaves, stems, pollen and vase water.
• Symptoms can begin within hours: vomiting, drooling, lethargy, loss of appetite.
• Without urgent veterinary treatment, many cats do not survive.
• Even brushing past the flowers can be dangerous if pollen sticks to the coat and is licked off later.

If you’re ordering flowers for someone with cats, please ask for NO lilies in the bouquet.

And if you have cats yourself, the safest option is to never L keep lilies in your home or garden.

One small choice could save a cat’s life this Mother’s Day.
