The CSIRO Staff Association has condemned CSIRO management for cutting another 151 research jobs at the national science agency. The latest cuts come despite the government agreeing to provide government an extra $387.4 million to the CSIRO in the Budget. For the union members who campaigned hard to secure this extra funding, these latest cuts are a slap in the face.

The workers at the City and Environment Directorate are vital in keeping public spaces safe and clean, in the design and development of the city and keeping Canberra running with public transport. These are essential services and any cuts will be devastating to the community.
