Jonathan Lee from Utopia Rising is running Conversation Confidence at Fairfield City HQ.

Here's how the night will run.

6:00 — doors, light snacks and drinks

6:30 — icebreaker: you introduce yourself the way Jonathan tells you to,
which is built to make you memorable

6:45 — spotting a networking moment as it turns up in front of you

7:05 — saying what you're about, so the right people lean in

7:25 — curve balls: the questions you can't rehearse for, practised on
each other

7:45 — what you noticed about yourself, and about everyone else

Bring a phone with decent charge. You may be asked to look something up,
and it's how people swap details at the end.

A few beautiful moments from our recent SWEH workshop with Thu Anh F few weeks ago.

It was a great evening of learning, reflection, meaningful conversations and connection, with plenty of practical insights shared around decision-making, delegation and creating more space in business.

A big thank you again to Thu Anh for sharing her knowledge with our community, and thank you to Tuy from Walking Light for capturing these moments so beautifully.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and made the evening such a special one.

5 days Countdown...

Stop opening with "so, what do you do?"

Jonathan Lee's line: be more interested in who they are and why they do it.
Jonathan Lee
Utopia Rising

"What do you do?" gets you a job title, and every answer sounds like the
last one. "Who are you?" and "why do you do it?" get you a person.

He's running a free workshop on it next Wednesday. You practise the swap
on each other, then spend twenty minutes on curve balls — the questions
you can't rehearse for.

Happy Long weekend!!

Daylight saving has officially begun, the clocks 🕰️ have moved forward, and somehow it feels like the perfect reminder that time moves quickly.

So if you’ve been meaning to get out, meet new people, build better connections or simply try something different, this upcoming SWEH workshop might be exactly what you need.

*****************************************************************
Meet the person running our 14 October workshop.

Jonathan Lee is an experience designer and facilitator, and the founder of Utopia Rising. Since 2016 he's hosted 50+ events across 20+ original themes - Gratitude, Paparazzi, Philosophy, Innovation, Time Travel.

His line on networking: asking "what do you do?" is boring, predictable and often doesn't work. So his rooms don't run on it. You practise on each other instead.

People who've been say the same two things afterwards: they learned ways to connect that aren't predictable, and they learned something about themselves.

Every client you win starts with a conversation.

So does every supplier, every partner, every referral. Most business
owners were never taught how to have one — you learn it on the job, in
rooms where getting it wrong costs you.

Jonathan Lee Jonathan Lee is running a free workshop on it for Southwest Sydney
business owners.

You'll practise it on the night: how to start a conversation with anyone
in the room, how to keep it going when they ask you something you didn't
expect, and how to steer it towards what you actually want out of it. In
pairs and small groups, on your feet.

What a fantastic evening we had last Wednesday at Fairfield City HQ for The Space In Between: Decision Alignment with Thu Anh F!

Thu Anh shared practical insights to help business owners step out of the day-to-day, make clearer decisions, delegate more effectively and create more space to focus on where their business is going.

A huge thank you to Thu Anh for generously sharing her knowledge, and to everyone who came along, participated and connected with our community.

We’re also very grateful to Fairfield City HQ for sponsoring the venue, and to Multicultural NSW, our major supporter, for helping us continue to create opportunities for local businesses and our community.

Thank you for being part of another great SWEH night. We can’t wait to see you at the next one!

Decisions. Delegation. Dollars. 💥

Three little Ds that sparked some BIG conversations at SWEH last night!

A huge thank you to youleadcoaching for challenging us to think differently about how we lead, let go and grow our businesses.

Lots of laughs, honest conversations, lightbulb moments 💡 and a practical Decision Filter to take home and actually USE!

This is what SWEH is all about - learning, connecting and growing together.

Thank you to everyone who came along, and a special thank you to our collaborating partners Multicultural NSW and Fairfield City HQ for continuing to support opportunities like these for our community.
