EARLY CHILDHOOD RESEARCH
La Trobe University researchers are inviting families with babies aged 6 to 18 months who show early social or communication differences to participate in a study that explores family experiences of support from health and community services across Victoria and Tasmania. Participation involves surveys and videos completed over one year, shared at your own pace. Click link attached for more info.

Meg has been volunteering in community education for more than ten years and has spent the past year sharing her skills at Bridge Darebin 📚

Through the Pronunciation Program, Meg supports learners who may not otherwise have access to these opportunities.

“I volunteer because I really like to keep doing what I love most – teaching. And every time that I teach, I keep learning. Teaching in Community Centres gives me the chance to teach learners who wouldn't have the resources to pay for such opportunities. It is so stimulating and rewarding.”

Meg’s passion for teaching helps open doors and build confidence, and we’re so grateful to have her with us.

Julie has been volunteering with Bridge Darebin for eight years and her warmth is felt by countless people who come through our doors 💫

Across reception, office support and technology sessions, Julie enjoys helping the many different people who pop in each week.

“I started volunteering as a way to give back to society. Sounds like a cliche but its true. I enjoy helping the variety of people who pop in; their smiles are my reward. Keeps the brain active. Certainly a variety of tasks.”

We’re so thankful for Julie and everything she continues to give to our community.

Tina has been volunteering in our Community Garden for the past six months and brings joy to the space every time she visits 🌱

She loves being outdoors, chatting with fellow gardeners and helping grow fresh food for our community.

“I enjoy gardening at Bridge Darebin so much – being outside, chatting to fellow garden lovers and growing fresh vegies for the Moon Rabbit kitchen.”

Thanks to volunteers like Tina, our garden continues to be a place of connection, care and good food.
