Today is World Audiologist Day! 👂 We’re celebrating audiologists and the important role they play in helping people stay connected.

Audiologists support people at every stage of life, from children developing their communication skills to older adults adjusting to changes in their hearing. They take the time to understand each person’s needs and work with them to find the right care and support.

Can you take part in a 60-to-90-minute interview?

The ANZ Hearing Health Collaborative (HHC) project team has commenced the next phase of the ANZ HHC: Living Guidelines for Cochlear Implantation in Adults project. This phase of the project is focused on identifying barriers and enablers to implementing the guidelines. Audiology Australia members are invited to participate.

In exchange for 60 to 90 minutes of your time, your participation may help to improve referral pathways, strategies to implement the guidelines, and equitable access to cochlear implant services.

Vale Dr R. John Bench

Audiology Australia acknowledges the passing of the Anglo-Australian academic, psychologist and paediatric audiologist, the late Dr R. John Bench, on 21 June 2026.

A eulogy for John has now been published in Audiology Now Issue 105 and on the Audiology Australia website, written by Dr Elaine Saunders.

In Elaine’s words: ‘There would not be an audiologist who has not at some point used the BKB (Bench, Kowal, Bamford) sentences.’
