Pramukh Varni Din commemorates the day Shastriji Maharaj appointed Pramukh Swami Maharaj as the President of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. 

When the young Pramukh Swami Maharaj was entrusted with the administrative leadership of the Sanstha by his guru, Shastriji Maharaj, he vowed to dedicate the rest of his life to its service. 

From that day forward, whether washing dishes, writing letters, or travelling to meet devotees, he lived by the principle of ‘in the joy others, lies our own’. 
76 years later, the impact of his life, leadership, and selfless service continues to inspire and uplift countless people around the world.

We were honoured to welcome the Honourable Milton Dick MP, Speaker of the Australian Parliament, and Minister Anne Aly MP to BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Perth, for a special Civics Education Program.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our mandir, engage with our children, youths and families, and share valuable insights into Australia’s democratic and parliamentary system. The interactive discussion provided a unique opportunity for attendees to learn more about civic participation and public service.

We sincerely appreciate your commitment to community engagement and thank you for making this visit a memorable and inspiring experience for all.

On Sunday, 31 May, we were honoured to attend the 20th Anniversary Victorian Aboriginal Remembrance Service.

This deeply moving occasion was dedicated to honouring the courage, sacrifice, and service of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women who served our nation.

It was a privilege to stand alongside community leaders, Elders, and fellow attendees on this momentous occasion and we are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate their strength and legacy.

We were grateful for the opportunity to join ABC Radio National’s recent episode of Soul Search to discuss the enduring influence of Swami Vivekananda’s values of religious tolerance and universal acceptance.

Het Patel, a BAPS volunteer and youth leader in Mill Park, Melbourne, shared his experience growing up learning about Swami Vivekananda from his grandfather, and reflected on how the teachings of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj continue to guide and inspire him today.

Swami Vivekananda made giant contributions to interfaith dialogue and interpreting Hinduism to the west. So who was Vivekananda, the young swami who impressed America at the end of the 19th century? And why does his legacy matter to young Hindus today?
