A historic milestone for Mount Gambier and the Limestone Coast! 🛕✨

Over the weekend of 3–4 October, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir officially opened its doors, becoming Mount Gambier’s first Hindu temple and marking a significant new chapter for the local community.

Guided by the blessings of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the opening celebrations brought together families, devotees and the wider community through a vibrant Nagar Yatra, cultural performances and the sacred Murti Pratishtha ceremony.

More than a place of worship, the mandir will serve as a centre for faith, culture, learning, service and community connection — fostering values of peace, harmony and unity for generations to come.

Rooted in Hindu traditions but welcoming to all, the mandir is a place where people of every faith, culture and background can come together, learn and connect.

On Tuesday, 28 July 2026, BAPS volunteers attended the Women in Leadership event at Parliament House, Melbourne, bringing together women and young people from across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria to hear from inspiring leaders and reflect on the importance of leadership, service and community.

At BAPS, we value the important role women play in strengthening families, communities and society, and believe in creating opportunities for women and young people to learn, grow and lead with confidence and purpose.

The event provided a meaningful opportunity to come together, share experiences and encourage the next generation of women leaders.

BAPS Perth marked Rakshabandhan with special visits to Wanneroo Police Station and Wanneroo Fire Station.

Rakshabandhan is a Hindu festival celebrating the values of protection, gratitude and care for one another. Symbolised by the tying of a rakhi, a sacred thread, the occasion is also an opportunity to recognise those who dedicate themselves to protecting and serving our communities.

Volunteers tied rakhis on police officers and firefighters as a gesture of gratitude and respect for the important role they play across the Perth community.

At Wanneroo Fire Station, volunteers also shared Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s message, “In the joy of others lies our own,” reflecting a shared commitment to serving and supporting others.

Rakshabandhan reminds us that the thread of protection can extend beyond families, strengthening bonds of gratitude, respect and togetherness across our wider community.

On Ganesh Chaturthi, we celebrate Bhagwan Ganesh, a symbol of wisdom, humility, new beginnings and overcoming obstacles. 🙏

To mark this special occasion, Rose Patel shares a beautiful violin piece dedicated to Ganpati Bappa. 🎻

Rose has been learning the violin at BAPS for past four years, where she discovered her passion for music and has continued to nurture her talent over the years. Today, she brings those years of learning together in a heartfelt offering of devotion.

Happy Father’s Day.
Some lessons are taught through words. Others through quiet example - the early mornings, the long days, the steady presence that asks for little but gives so much.
Today is a moment to pause and appreciate the fathers, grandfathers and father-figures whose patience, sacrifices and guidance shape our lives in ways we often only recognise with time.

With gratitude for their strength, their care, and the values they pass on from one generation to the next.
