Little Things for Tiny Tots

We give babies a better start to life by supplying essential items to families in need. Hi! I'm Kiren, the founder of Little Things for Tiny Tots.

This charity was started by three Perth mothers - myself, Philippa and Elisa, who share a passion to help babies in need and give back to our community. We believe all babies deserve an equal start to life. Sadly, some families can’t afford essential items for their newborn baby. Our charity distributes new and pre-loved essential baby items to WA families in need. We provide boxes of “little thin

gs” that assist a family to care for their baby in the first few weeks of life. Our New Baby Boxes contain items such as clothing, blankets, nappies, wipes, toys and books. We distribute our New Baby Boxes via existing support services and government agencies and do not give boxes directly to families or individuals. We operate out of the Tuart Hill Community Centre and rely on the generosity and support of our local community to help Perth babies and their families. Little Things for Tiny Tots is registered with the Australian Charity and Non-Profits Commission and has a Western Australian Charitable Collection Licence.

💙 A big shout-out to the wonderful team from Horizon Power! 💙

This fabulous team brought incredible enthusiasm, kindness and dedication to our warehouse, helping us prepare essential support for babies and families across Western Australia.

From sorting a massive 9,000 donated nappies to packing Box 1 baby bundles, creating accessory packs, rolling blankets and writing thoughtful cards, you achieved so much in a short time. 👶💙

Every task completed helps us get vital items into the hands of families facing hardship, ensuring little ones have the essentials they need to thrive.

We are so grateful for your support, positive attitude and commitment to making a difference. The impact of your efforts will be felt by countless families throughout WA.

💙 Big Impact for Little Lives 💙

When Adel* arrived in Australia after fleeing Afghanistan, she had nothing but the clothes she was wearing.

Just weeks before the Taliban closed the border, Adel made the difficult journey to safety. Two months after arriving in Perth, she welcomed her baby into the world — far from home, without family support, and facing an uncertain future.

Through Little Things for Tiny Tots , Adel received boxes of baby clothing, nappies, and essential items to help her care for her newborn.

Overwhelmed by the kindness she received, Adel shared:
"I am so grateful for the generosity of Australians, and one day I hope to give this help back to others."

Stories like Adel's remind us why our work matters.

Every day, we support vulnerable babies and families across Western Australia who are facing crisis, hardship, displacement, family violence, homelessness, financial stress, and so much more. We rely on the generosity of our community to ensure these babies receive the essentials they need to thrive.

Ever wondered what happens to donations we receive that we cannot accept?

In most cases these items have ended up with Clutterbugs - a fantastic local recycling organisation that distributes items around WA as well as overseas.

Recently we gave her over 70 giant Ikea bags.

Just a small reminder to donors, to always check our website before donating to make sure we can pass on your lovely items to families in need. 💙

Unfortunately Clutterbugs have recently let us know they are closing. If anyone has any ideas where we can pass on unsuitable items so they do not end up in landfill- please get in touch.

💙 Meet Susan from Narrogin — a true Little Things for Tiny Tots champion! 💙

For more than 9 years, Susan has been an incredible supporter of Little Things for Tiny Tots, regularly delivering car and trailer loads of nappy boxes packed with baby essentials to our HQ in Yokine. Most recently, she arrived with an amazing 90+ boxes for WA families in need! 👶🍼

A passionate op-shopper with a heart of gold, Susan is always on the lookout for quality preloved baby items and encourages her local community to do the same. Her dedication, generosity, and commitment have made a lasting difference to thousands of babies and families across Western Australia.

A huge thank you to Susan (and Steve) for your ongoing support. Your kindness and generosity continue to inspire us all. 💙

👏 And a very special shout-out to Susan’s wonderful grandchildren — Xzaviah, Maverick, Nahaliah and Bentley — who spent over an hour helping load boxes from the lounge, hallway, and outside laundry into the car. We were absolutely thrilled to receive this generous contribution, which will help keep babies across Western Australia clean, dry, comfortable, and cared for during challenging times.

At just 25 weeks pregnant, Emily* went into premature labour.

Living in regional Western Australia, she had no time to prepare and was suddenly thrown into a world of uncertainty, fear, and hospital visits far from home. With a tiny newborn to care for and limited support around her, the challenges felt overwhelming.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Emily received essential baby items and practical support when she needed it most, allowing her to focus on what truly mattered — caring for her precious baby.

Sadly, Emily's story is not unique.

Every day, we hear from families facing unimaginable circumstances — mothers escaping family violence, parents experiencing homelessness, families struggling with financial hardship, and carers welcoming babies into their homes with little or no notice.

💙 A huge thank you to Bankwest for their ongoing commitment to giving back to the community.'

Throughout May, we were fortunate to welcome four fantastic Bankwest volunteer groups to our warehouse as part of their May By Us volunteering initiative. Their energy, enthusiasm and willingness to roll up their sleeves made a real difference to the babies and families we support across WA.

From sorting donations to helping prepare essential baby items for distribution, every task completed by volunteers helps us get vital support to families who need it most.
