Join us at the ‘Alone, Together Artist Meet-up’ for the month of February. “Alone, Together” is a youth-led initiative of Global Shapers Perth Hub exploring the emotional landscape of modern loneliness and the social pressure to “perform” in young adulthood. Envisioned as an immersive, community-driven exhibition, the project invites young people to reflect, create, and connect through art, storytelling, and connection.

While “Alone, Together” will culminate in a public interactive exhibition in June 2026, the heart of the project lies in the process of community co-creation. Monthly artist meetups invite young people in the community to come together and co-develop pieces that reflect the many facets of modern loneliness. We have already held two artist meetups in 2025 and are excited for our upcoming events leading up to the final exhibition.

Come along to a meetup to work on your own creative outputs or contribute towards a co-created piece, and meet new people!

🔍 Meet Our Speaker: Wellington Muvunduke 🔍
Wellington is a rising star in the fight against digital crime. A Murdoch University graduate with a double major in Cybersecurity and Forensics, he has been working in the cybersecurity space for the past 3 years — and recently made the move into the financial services sector.

He now works as a Fraud Analyst at Bankwest, helping protect Australians from scams, fraud, and financial threats in an increasingly digital world. Wellington brings a grounded, real-world lens to what it’s like working in cyber and crime prevention every day.

🔒 Meet Our 2nd Speaker: Minh Hoang 🔒
Minh is a powerhouse in the world of online safety and digital rights. They currently work at Bloom, WA’s leading Youth Innovation Centre, and serve on the Advisory Council for the eSafety Commissioner of Australia.

Minh has advised state and federal governments, Big Tech (including TikTok, Snapchat, and Meta), and global institutions like the UN and the World Bank — all by the age of 25. As a passionate advocate for responsible tech and digital inclusion, their work is helping shape a safer, more equitable digital future.

🌏 In 2024, Minh was recognised as one of 32 Youth Leaders in the Asia-Pacific by Global Citizen.

🚨 Meet Our 1st Panellist: Dr. Garrison Gao 🚨

Dr. Gao is a lecturer at the University of Western Australia and a leading voice in cybersecurity research. Before joining UWA, he was a Senior Research Scientist at CSIRO’s Data61, working at the forefront of national security innovation.

He is a Senior Member of IEEE and currently serves as an Associate Editor for two major journals: IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security and IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems.

Dr. Gao has received multiple global accolades, including Best Paper Awards at Usenix Security 2024 and AsiaCCS 2023, and the Outstanding PC Member Award at AsiaCCS 2024. His research spans AI Security, System Security, and Hardware Security, with over 4,600 citations to his name.
