12 BRAVE SLAMMERS competed for chocolates and PHA-branded coffee cups at the History Slam 2026!

Thanks to Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage's Regional Heritage Conference in Northam, a dozen history and heritage professionals delighted a large and enthusiastic crowd with lightning 3-minute history tales.

Huge thanks to staff at The Rec Hotel for allowing us to use their beautiful beer garden - an excellent venue for this fun and entertaining event.

Congratulations to the three worthy winners as voted by the audience, pictured below.

PHA would like to congratulate our member Malcolm Traill on his new book "South: Stories from Albany and the South Coast of Western Australia" launched at History West last week.

To mark Albany's 2026 bicentenary, the book is both a celebration and a reflection - an invitation to rediscover the unique heritage of a town at the southern edge of a vast continent.

Professional Historians Association hosted a History Roadshow at the City of Perth Library as part of the Boorloo Heritage Festival. We had some very enthusiastic researchers attend to ask our members for advice about their respective and varied history projects! They all left with lots of ideas for the next steps to research. Thanks to Boorloo Heritage Festival and City of Perth Library staff for their incredible support and assistance for this event.
