What an unbelievable way to cap off a life changing journey. Straight from the global energy of Turin to London for a red carpet experience at Australia House!!
After an unforgettable experience at Terra Madre, our delegation made a final stop at the Australian High Commission, hosted by the WA Office.
The team met with the WA Office team to share stories from Terra Madre and highlight our five hero Western Australian bush ingredients. Young leaders Molly and Quinlan even got behind the scenes with catering company Lantana to see how event production and high level hospitality run in London.
Then came the grand finale: attending the Celebrating Australian Influence on Global Cinema evening, marking 30 years of the iconic film Shine. Listening to director Scott Hicks alongside stars Geoffrey Rush and Noah Taylor share insights into Australian film history was absolute magic.
A major highlight of the night was connecting with naarah ✨ , an inspiring Aboriginal singer, actor, and creative currently working in London. She was so generous with her time and warm with our crew.
Huge appreciation to Sally and Christy at the WA Office and the High Commission team for hosting us and giving our delegates an incredible London experience.
Now, our team is back on home soil! Touchdown in Australia with hearts full, minds expanded, and First Nations food, youth, and Country proudly represented on the global stage. What a trip!

Day 1 at Terra Madre 2026!
A few queues and registration checks to kick things off, but we are officially inside and the atmosphere here in Turin is electric. Delegates, cultures, and food movements from every corner of the world gathered in one place.
So much lined up for our team over the coming days—stay tuned as we bring you along for the journey!

Our team is on their way to Turin, Italy for Terra Madre 2026.
To have Western Australian First Nations food, culture, and stories on this stage is massive. Our team will be running a featured Kitchen Without Borders session, standing alongside food communities from every part of the globe to share native ingredients, deep cultural knowledge, and the talent of our young leaders.
For our young people, being part of a global gathering like this is life-changing. It is a chance to connect with delegates from all over the world, soak in that energy, and feel the global weight and power of where they come from.

Dee Hedland: "I am looking forward to returning to Terra Madre for building connections with networks from different cultures, and learning about different foods, and projects that are happening. Off to Melbourne!
Our secondary school culinary team, led by dedicated teacher Michele Tully, officially took off this morning to represent Western Australia at the national Secondary School Bushfoods Competition.
Months of trial, practice, and prep have gone into perfecting these dishes. From carefully packing prepped native ingredients to fine tuning intricate plated presentations, these young chefs have poured incredible focus and pride into every single element.
While the competition will be fierce, most importantly, we want these young people to soak up every moment, and have absolute fun showcasing their talent over there.
We could not be prouder of their dedication. Wishing the team all the best as they step into the kitchen over the next few days to showcase local WA bushfoods on the national stage!

Recycled pallets, local artwork, and real community impact!
The Sleep Tight Initiative is officially taking shape. Driven by the vision of Rishaye Shaw and Molly West through the Wildflower Circle Collective, First Nations students at Balga TAFE teamed up with a First Nations lecturer to build two custom bed prototypes made entirely from recycled timber.
These handcrafted pieces feature two stunning headboard designs, including hand painted art and custom fabric showcasing Noongar artist Kevin Binder. The ultimate dream? Helping local First Nations artists print their artwork onto textiles to create custom furniture, cushions, and headboards that carry deep cultural stories.
With mattresses and full bedding organized, the complete prototypes are on their way to the Warburton Art Gallery! Meanwhile on the Lands, local builders are already working on the ground with students, teaching hands-on construction skills and building beds right in community.
This is what happens when you combine recycled materials, local talent, and practical skills. Huge shoutout to Rishaye, Molly, the Balga TAFE crew, and everyone on the ground in Warburton making this happen!

Bring Your First Nations Students & Build Your Skills: Djinda Ngardak 2026
Prepare Produce Provide is calling on Western Australian schools to register for the Djinda Ngardak 2026 Program in the South West this November. This dedicated initiative offers educators the opportunity to complete professional development alongside and in support of their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
How the Dual-Stream Experience Works
For Educators: Complete interactive professional development modules focused on native ingredients, sustainability, and Indigenous cultural integration to expand your curriculum confidence and industry currency.
For First Nations Students: Designed specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 10–12, this program offers a transformative camp combining traditional bush food knowledge, cultural immersion with Elders, and hands-on culinary training with top WA chefs.
Location: South Regional TAFE (Bunbury) & Scouts WA Adventure Centre
Dates: 23–27 November 2026
Program Details & Registration
Cost: $660 per student / $660 per teacher (includes all tuition, meals, and accommodation).
Teacher Role: Accompany your participating First Nations students, manage excursion paperwork, and support them throughout their learning journey.
