🌟🌟Thanks to all those who came along to the 10th anniversary lighting of the St Matthews Guildford WA Community Christmas tree on Sunday night. 🌲

🎼The singing was led by John and Ellie MacPherson, Messy Church leader Victoria Carlton shared the Nativity story, there were bubbles, craft and face painting. A visit from Donkey from Lorraines Ponies added a special touch of magic. 🌟

🧚‍♀️The kids also loved seeing Friends of Guildford Library story fairy Amy and Mrs Galaxy, who is raising awareness for MS.

This is also the 10th anniversary of the arrival of Rev Katrina Holgate and husband Jonathan at St Matt’s. Special thanks to them both for their amazing efforts in the community. 🙏

The event was supported by funding from City of Swan and Steve Catania MLA🎄🎄

🎼Skilled performers John and Ellie MacPherson will be leading the festive songs at the Lighting of the Guildford Community Christmas Tree from 6PM Sunday November 30 at Stirling Square, Guildford.🪇🎸
The couple are part of the long-running Carols by Candlelight in Cottesloe, with John writing original music scores and Ellie choreographing drama productions. We are very fortunate they are ready to grace Guildford with their talents!🌟🌲

🌟FLASHBACK FRIDAY As can be seen from this article from the Echo in 1985, for years a tree on James Street Guildford was lit up for Christmas until it sadly had to be removed. In 2015 the tree-lighting tradition was revived by St Matt's Anglican Church with a tree in Stirling Square.
Don't miss the 10th anniversary lighting of the tree - bring a picnic and gather on Sunday 30 November 2025 at 6pm for free activities including Carols and craft and the exciting countdown to the lighting of the tree at sunset!🎄
