Basil is one of many possums who live in the bush here and in our animal shelters, which I see them sharing with the other animals. He is HUGE.
Basil likes to raid Gypsy’s feed station at night and clean up any parrot seed remaining after Gypsy and Gary have finished eating! Emma.

Miss Honey is very happy today. She has come such a long way in the short time she has been with us. You may have seen the post of her when she arrived. She was just skin and bone, absolutely starving and she was covered in lice eggs.
These days she is nice and plump and she has no parasites which must make her feel so much better ❤️ Emma.

Our little rescue cow from the post I shared early in the week is doing well.
I have wormed her and I have been slowly introducing feed in addition to grass hay.

Starving cows can die easily when food is reintroduced to their system. So far she is doing well. She looks so different with a full tummy.
I have decided her new name is Daphne. It was hard to find a name that really suits her so Daphne it is.🥰 Emma.

Yesterday was one of those days I wish I never had to have. I collected this little cow who was a surrender. She is literally skin and bone. She has no muscle at all.
Her friend died a few months ago. She continued to somehow survive through this cold winter. Not a single blade of grass in sight.
When I arrived I found myself staring in disbelief, lost for words, heartbroken. I was stunned to see her right near the house in full view literally slowly dying a little more each day.

She is 3 years old. Her body looks like that of a young dairy calf, tiny and frail. Her head looks like a cows head on a calf’s body.
She is one of the worst cases of neglect I have ever seen. I have seen a lot of extreme suffering and cruelty in my 25 years of animal rescue. This little cow is one of the saddest and cruelest of those cases.

By the end of the day she will have a new name to go with her new life with me. If she does survive this horror she will never go hungry again.
She must survive, I want to see this dear sweet cow filled with joy and life and living the way she has deserved to live from the day she was born.
