❄️🎬 Winter Party at Lockridge OSHC! 🍿🎟️

We celebrated our last day of vacation care with a cosy movie and plenty of fun! The children collected their movie tickets, enjoyed popcorn and settled in with friends for their own little cinema experience. 💙

Children and educators celebrated together, sharing laughter, smiles and happy moments—a lovely way to finish our school holiday program! ✨

🧪🌈 Squishy, stretchy fun at Lockridge OSHC! 💚

Today’s Slime Day brought plenty of excitement, laughter and happy smiles! Our children thoroughly enjoyed getting hands-on with slime—stretching, squeezing and discovering its squishy texture. It was lovely to see their curiosity as they explored and shared the fun with their friends. 🙌✨

Alongside all the giggles, this sensory experience encouraged creativity, fine motor skills and learning through play. The children had opportunities to experiment, describe how the slime felt and enjoy making their own discoveries.

A wonderful day of messy play and joyful moments together! 💛

🎨🐞🦋 Bugs, Butterflies & Lots of Creativity! 🦋🐞🎨

Our children across the service have been having a bug-tastic time exploring the wonderful world of insects through art and craft! 🌿✨

Inspired by their outdoor adventures and discoveries in nature, the children used a variety of materials to create their own insects, bugs, butterflies, and creepy crawlies. From colourful wings and spotted ladybugs to wiggly caterpillars and busy bees, each creation reflected the children's imagination, creativity, and unique ideas.

Art experiences like these encourage children to express themselves, develop fine motor skills, and build on their understanding of the natural world. As they created, the children shared stories about the bugs they had seen, discussed their favourite insects, and proudly showcased their masterpieces.

We think the results are simply un-bee-lievable! 🐝💛 The children have truly bugged out with creativity, and we couldn't be prouder of their amazing work.

🌿🐞 Kindy Bug Hunt Adventure! 🐞🌿

Our Kindy children have been busy exploring the natural world around them during an exciting bug hunt adventure!

Equipped with curious minds and keen eyes, the children ventured around our playground and the surrounding park areas, searching for the tiny creatures that call these spaces home. Together, they looked under leaves, explored garden beds, and carefully observed the insects and bugs they discovered along the way.

These hands-on experiences encourage children to develop an appreciation for nature, build their observation skills, and learn about the important role living creatures play in our environment. The children's excitement as they made each new discovery showed just how much learning can happen through exploration and play.

Back at the centre, many of the children were eager to share their findings and talk about the different creatures they had spotted, extending their learning through conversation and collaborative discovery.

What a wonderful way to connect with nature and nurture a sense of curiosity about the world around us! 🌱✨

🐦💚 Our Little Explorers Loved Visiting Mindy & Milli! 💚🐦

There has been plenty of excitement in the foyer as our babies stop by to visit Mindy and Milli, our beautiful budgies! ✨

The children have been busy watching the birds hop from perch to perch, flutter their wings, and chirp throughout the day. These simple moments spark curiosity, encourage observation, and bring lots of smiles as our little learners discover something new.

Mindy and Milli have quickly become a much-loved part of our service, creating wonderful opportunities for children and families to connect, chat, and explore together. Whether you're arriving for the day or heading home, don't forget to stop by and say hello to our feathered friends! 🐦👋

🐦💕 Meet Our New Feathered Friends, Minty and Milli! 💕🐦

As part of our Kindy program, the children recently participated in a special project to welcome two new budgies to our centre. This experience has provided meaningful opportunities for the children to contribute ideas, make decisions, and learn about caring for living things.

One of the most exciting parts of the project was choosing names for our new feathered friends. After lots of discussion and enthusiasm from the children, our Kindy group proudly named the budgies Minty and Milli!

Minty is our bright and cheerful green and yellow budgie, while Milli is a beautiful white budgie with a hint of soft blue. Both have quickly settled into their new home and have already become much-loved members of our centre community.

Through this experience, the children have been exploring concepts of responsibility, empathy, and respect for animals. They have enjoyed observing the budgies' behaviours, listening to their chirps, and learning about what they need to stay healthy and happy. These hands-on learning opportunities support children's understanding of caring for living things and foster a sense of belonging and connection.

We are incredibly proud of the way our Kindy children have embraced this project and taken ownership of welcoming Minty and Milli to the centre. We look forward to sharing many more learning moments, discoveries, and adventures with our newest feathered friends.
