🌸 International Women’s Day Spotlight 🌸
Meet Mba Ruri, an inspiring entrepreneur in Indonesia who started her own business from home while balancing motherhood and caring for her child with disabilities.
From weaving recycled packaging into handmade bags to supplying instant tiwul rice (a traditional Indonesian rice substitute), Mba Ruri has built a business that fits around her family. “I want to stay active and support my family’s economy, even if I work from home,” she says.
Learning from other women in a women’s business group and participating in marketing workshops have helped Mba Ruri to build a strong business strategy, expand her network, and refine her marketing skills.
For Mba Ruri, her own successful business is only the start. She wants to see everyone in her community thrive and benefit from new opportunities. “I want to grow what we already have here, without having to work elsewhere.”
This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the creativity, entrepreneurship, and community spirit of women like Mba Ruri 💐
The Jajal Wae Sustainable Agri-tourism Project is delivered in partnership with our implementing partner in Indonesia, Dreamdelion, and supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).
