The Filipino Communities Council of Australia reaffirms the strong and longstanding contribution of Filipino Australians to this country.
Filipino Australians serve across essential sectors including health care, aged care, education, business, public service, defence and the trades. We are workers, professionals, small business owners, volunteers, faith leaders and active members of communities right across Australia.
The relationship between Australia and the Philippines is built on decades of cooperation, shared values, mutual respect and deep people to people ties. As we mark 80 years of diplomatic relations between our two nations, this partnership continues to be strengthened by the Filipino community here in Australia.
Migration policy is an important and often complex area of public policy. We encourage leaders across the political spectrum to approach discussions that affect established communities with care, balance and respect. It is important that conversations about challenges and reforms recognise the real contributions of communities who have helped build this country.
FILCCA remains committed to working constructively with all elected representatives. We stand proud and united, confident in the lasting contribution Filipino-Australians make to Australia’s social, economic and civic life.
