Liquid Architecture

Liquid Architecture Liquid Architecture events are a meeting place for people who value sound and listening as a way to explore ideas, shift perspectives and make connections.

Liquid Architecture is a community-founded, artist-first organisation that exists to explore sonic relationships and practices on the radical edges of sound and listening. Liquid Architecture is a community-founded, artist-first organisation that exists to explore sonic relationships
and practices on the radical edges of sound and listening. We support artists, musicians, performers and creative p

ractitioners—whether they are sonic luminaries or
emerging artists—to make vital works, presented in exceptional locations and circumstances. Founded in 2002, in Naarm/Birrarungga (Melbourne), we engage with our local neighbourhoods in the region, First Nations lands and cultures, as well as being part of international dialogues and communities. We are:

For sound that exists at the radical edges of practice to make space for new approaches — used to explore worlds, unpack ideas, share messages and present shifting perspectives. For listening that brings vital ideas and voices into focus, searching beyond the mainstream to explore new ways of experiencing and analysing — provoking growth and change. Underpinned by an artist-first, community-driven approach, that forms communities and welcomes emerging and established artists and audiences of all levels, generations and backgrounds.

Bark. Branches. Stones. Clay. Cold Hands Warm Heart is a Narrm-based collective of musicians who seek to pay homage to nature by evoking it through experimental soundscapes. A fallen tree, teeming with life. The swell of a river, after rain. This is music that draws attention to deep time by inviting deep listening.

This iteration of CHWH will feature Genevieve Fry, Esala Liyanage and Grace Ferguson.

Soft Signal #1 presented by Neighbours Collective × Liquid Architecture

Soft Signal sits within the Liquid Architecture SE Asian Co-Design program and brings together Australian artists Joli Boardman and Sachin De Silva with Thai artists Tanat Teeradakorn and Plern Vern for a collaborative exploration of vision and sound. The artists enter an open-ended process of exchange, experimenting across sensory languages and testing how ideas shift through dialogue, improvisation, and shared practice.

Soft Signal is less a fixed artwork than an unfolding conversation, a space where cross-cultural perspectives meet, collide, and generate new artistic possibilities with our region and corner of the world of SE Asia.
