🇵🇱✨ MEET OUR FESTIVAL FRIENDS – ZHP HUFIEC PODHALE! ✨

The Polish Scouting Association, Związek Harcerstwa Polskiego (ZHP) in Australia, is a volunteer-run, non-profit community organisation. ❤️🤍

With a proud history spanning over 75 years in Melbourne, Hufiec Podhale has played an important role in nurturing Polish culture, traditions and community spirit across generations.

Through fun, adventurous and challenging experiences, ZHP helps young people develop new skills, build confidence and leadership, work as a team, connect with their Polish heritage and make lifelong friendships. 🏕️🤝

Harcerstwo welcomes all interested individuals from four years of age, with regular meetings occurring in Albion, South Melbourne and Rowville.

🥰 Get ready for a special treat! The youngest and cutest members of the organisation – the Skrzaty and Zuchy – will take to the Main Stage to delight audiences with their Polish songs and dances! 🎶💃🕺

Bring the family along and help us celebrate the next generation keeping Polish culture and traditions alive! 🇵🇱❤️

🎨🇵🇱 MEET THE ARTIST: JOANNA RAJ ART! ❤️✨

Meet Joanna Rajtar, a talented Polish-Australian artist based in Melbourne, whose beautiful artwork celebrates the connection between her two beloved cultures — Polish and Australian. 🇵🇱🇦🇺

From acrylic and oil paintings to digital art, Joanna combines creativity, culture and symbolism to produce unique works inspired by nature, people and the world around her. 🌸🖌️

Her artwork is showcased at exhibitions, local art fairs and festivals in Australia and Poland, available as original paintings, prints and a variety of creative products. She also welcomes custom commissions!

✨ Fun fact: Joanna discovered that the letters of the word “Art” were hidden in her surname — inspiring her artistic name, Joanna Raj Art!

💃🇵🇱 MEET OUR FESTIVAL FRIENDS – OBERTAS! 🇵🇱💃

🎉 Travelling all the way from Brisbane, it’s time to meet our second interstate dance group joining us at the 22nd Polish Festival @ Fed Square! ❤️🤍

✨ Introducing the Polish Song and Dance Company of Brisbane “Obertas”!

Founded in 1982 to perform at the Opening Ceremony of the Brisbane Commonwealth Games, Obertas - Polish Folkloric Ensemble Brisbane has grown into a vibrant ensemble celebrating the rich diversity of Polish folk music and dance.

For over 40 years, under the artistic direction of its founder and choreographer, Henry Kurylewski, Obertas has shared Polish traditions with audiences across Australia and New Zealand. The group has performed at 15 PolArt festivals, Queensland multicultural festivals, Shell Folkloric Concerts and World Expo ’88! 🎶🌏

With an extensive repertoire of traditional songs and dances from different Polish regions, Obertas continues to keep Polish folklore alive for generations young and old. ❤️

🎉 Obertas is thrilled to be performing at this year’s Polish Festival @ Fed Square, and we can’t wait to see the spectacular dances they’ll bring to Melbourne!

🎶✨ MEET OUR FESTIVAL ARTISTS – ZOSIA KASZUBSKA! 🇵🇱❤️

✨ “Enchantments” captures those magical moments in music – flashes of pure joy amid the rhythms of everyday life.

Meet Zosia Kaszubska, a passionate singer who has been making music for as long as she can remember, starting out in a backyard choir with her brother and three neighbourhood friends! 🎤🎶

More recently, Zosia has found great joy in sharing Polish national and folk songs with Australian audiences. Through these musical treasures, she brings the Polish spirit to life, celebrating its unique blend of warmth, feistiness and bold defiance. 🇵🇱❤️🤍

🎶✨ MEET OUR FESTIVAL ARTISTS – AMELIA GINTER! ✨🎤

At just 16 years old, Amelia has loved music since childhood and is passionate about singing and playing instruments. 🎵

She sings in her school band, has been a member of the Melbourne Polish Children’s and Youth Choir since 2023, and joined Łowicz Polish Folkloric Ensemble in 2025. 🇵🇱❤️

When she’s not making music, Amelia enjoys playing the piano and guitar, as well as reading, especially thriller novels! 📚🎹🎸

We’re excited to introduce Zuzanna Wawruszczak, known as Zuzy, a Polish Australian songwriter, producer and live looper based on the Gold Coast! 🎵

Inspired by nature, migration, neurodivergence and the spaces between people and places, Zuzy creates thoughtful indie pop that blends memorable melodies with introspective storytelling.

🎤 At the Edge, Zuzy will bring her music to life through layered vocals and live looping, creating an intimate and engaging performance shaped by connection, spontaneity and story.

🎹 Meet Tomasz Odrowąż, a Melbourne-based pianist and electronic musician with a background in classical piano. His performances blend intimate classical roots with live electronic experimentation, creating immersive and evolving soundscapes.

Under the alias Thom Antoni, he produces works that explore the interplay of acoustic resonance and synthesis, blending delicate piano with textured electronics to craft music that is both reflective and contemporary. Deeply connected to his Polish heritage, Tomasz draws inspiration from the Romantic tradition while reimagining it through a modern, experimental lens.

🎉 The countdown is ON for the 22nd Polish Festival @ Fed Square – Melbourne’s biggest celebration of Polish culture! 🇵🇱✨

With just over 5 weeks to go, we’re excited to give you a sneak peek into our incredible Festival program!

This year, we’re thrilled to welcome 6 folkloric dance groups, including 3 travelling from interstate! 💃🕺

✨ We’re delighted to introduce the first of our interstate – Polish Folkloric Ensemble "Syrenka", travelling from Sydney! ❤️🤍

Founded in 1968, Syrenka is a vibrant and energetic ensemble featuring three age groups, with an extensive repertoire of traditional Polish dances and authentic costumes from Poland. ❤️🤍

🌟 Did you know? Syrenka performed at the opening of the Sydney Opera House in 1973 and at the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympics! They have also performed at every PolArt festival in Australia and represented Polish folklore at the World Festival of Polish Folklore Groups in Rzeszów, Poland, in 1999, 2002, 2019 and most recently in 2026!
