Meet Koda, a handsome German Shepherd who is looking for a very special adult-only rescue home through Sweet Shepherd Rescue. ๐ฅฐ
Koda is a smart, active and affectionate Shepherd who thrives when he has structure, purpose and people who understand his needs. He loves being included in everyday life and would be happiest with someone who enjoys getting out and about with their dog.
๐ Beach adventures? Koda's in.
๐ฒ Bush walks? Absolutely.
๐ฅพ Long walks? One of his favourites!
โ Puppaccino afterwards? Definitely! ๐
Koda isn't a dog who wants to spend his days simply entertaining himself. He enjoys being with his people and would love a home where he can be part of the daily routine โ walking, exploring, learning and relaxing alongside his humans. โค๏ธ
๐ง A SMART SHEPHERD
Koda is intelligent and enjoys learning. He's completed puppy school and obedience training and knows a great range of commands and tricks.
He responds well to positive reinforcement and does best when he has clear expectations, consistency and structure. Mental enrichment and ongoing training will be an important part of helping Koda thrive.
He's also well known and loved by his veterinary team and groomer. Once he understands what's expected of him, he can settle nicely and enjoys affection and spending time with his favourite people.
๐ก KODA'S IDEAL HOME
The most important thing we're looking for is an ADULT-ONLY HOME.
Koda would suit:
โ๏ธ An adult-only household
โ๏ธ Someone experienced with dogs, preferably German Shepherds
โ๏ธ An active person or couple who enjoys walking and outdoor activities
โ๏ธ A secure, safely fenced property
โ๏ธ People committed to ongoing training and mental enrichment
โ๏ธ A home where he can be included in everyday life
โ๏ธ People who understand that every dog has individual needs and are prepared to support Koda accordingly
๐ซ No children
๐ซ No pocket pets or small animals
๐ OTHER DOGS?
Potentially. Koda may be able to live with a calm, compatible dog, but this would need to be carefully assessed through an appropriate meet and greet before any placement decision is made.
๐ฑ CATS?
Koda has previously lived around cats. Any future placement with cats would need careful assessment and appropriate management.
โค๏ธ KODA'S HEALTH & WELLBEING
Koda is desexed, vaccinated and receives ongoing veterinary care.
He currently takes Fluoxetine to help manage anxiety and support his wellbeing. His medication and ongoing care requirements will be discussed openly with any prospective adopter so they understand how to support him.
Koda has also previously had a gastropexy.

Koda isn't looking for just any home. He's looking for an adult-only home that understands him, appreciates his intelligence and is prepared to give him the structure, enrichment and companionship he needs.
For the right person, Koda has so much to offer. He is a clever, engaging Shepherd who loves being involved in life and has the potential to become a wonderful, devoted companion.
