Mila is a stunning black German Shepherd with a heart full of love for her people. Loyal, affectionate and happiest by your side, she's the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with her family and simply wants to be included in everyday life.

Like many German Shepherds, Mila has a natural protective instinct. She is devoted to her home and family and will alert you to anything she believes is out of the ordinary. With the support of anti-anxiety medication and a consistent routine, she has become a much happier, more relaxed girl who genuinely enjoys getting out for her walks and spending time with her people.

Mila has previously lived successfully with other dogs and has attended doggy daycare, where she received positive feedback for her interactions. She can become reactive toward unfamiliar dogs, particularly larger dogs, if she feels threatened, so she will need an owner who understands dog body language and is committed to continuing her training. She is always walked on lead and is not suited to off-lead dog parks.

At home, Mila is affectionate, calm and loves nothing more than relaxing beside her humans. Despite enjoying a good walk, she's just as happy curling up on the couch at the end of the day.

Mila could suit a home with respectful young children and has lived well alongside small dogs. She is not suitable for homes with cats, and her suitability around livestock or pocket pets is unknown.

Her ideal family will have experience with larger breeds, provide confident leadership and give her the love, structure and security she deserves. In return, you'll gain an incredibly loyal companion who will be by your side through everything.

Mila is only being rehomed due to her family's overseas relocation and strict import restrictions. This much-loved girl deserves a family who will cherish her just as much as they have. ❤️

Lucy is a beautiful young German Shepherd looking for a special home that understands the breed and is willing to help her build confidence.

Lucy is a loving, intelligent girl who enjoys having space to run and play. She would thrive in a quieter environment away from busy streets, where she isn't constantly overwhelmed by passing people, dogs and traffic. A secure property with a large yard would be ideal.

Like many German Shepherds, Lucy is devoted to her family but can be wary of strangers. She can be vocal when visitors arrive and will need patient introductions to new people. She is also reactive to other dogs while out on walks, so her new family should be committed to continuing positive, reward-based training to help her gain confidence.

Lucy has lived with another large dog and may suit a home with a calm, confident male after careful introductions. She is not suited to homes with small dogs, cats or poultry, as she has previously killed chickens.

She could potentially live with respectful children who understand boundaries and dog behaviour.

Lucy would love a home where someone is around much of the time, as she enjoys companionship and doesn't cope well when left to worry about the world on her own.

With structure, routine and someone willing to invest time into her training, Lucy has all the makings of a loyal and devoted companion.

A massive thank you to Lyka for their incredibly generous donation of fresh meals to Sweet Shepherd Rescue Australia.

Thanks to Lyka, we've been able to fill the freezers of our foster homes, ensuring our rescue dogs have delicious, nutritious meals while they wait for their forever families. The best part? The dogs absolutely love it – they've given Lyka a big paws-up and their official tick of approval! 🐶💚

Today we welcomed the adorable zeus into care. This cute 18 month old boy has proven to take everything in his stride being a very good boy for his vet and transport services to get him into foster care.
He's just an adorable kiddo and we can't wait to show him how amazing the big wide world is.
