Every Friday and Saturday night, while most of the community is asleep or enjoying a night out, our incredible ChaplainWatch volunteers are walking the pavement.

Have you ever wondered what it actually feels like to be a ChaplainWatch volunteer?

It feels like the immense wave of relief from a parent when you help their disoriented teenager. It feels like the quiet gratitude of a vulnerable person who just needed a safe, non-judgmental es**rt to a taxi at 2am. It feels like knowing that because you chose to give up a few hours of your weekend, a local street was safer, kinder, and more secure.

There is no deeper reward than knowing you were the exact safety net someone needed when their "good times went bad."

We are looking for more everyday heroes to join our crews. You don’t need a background in crisis work—just a heart for people, a listening ear, and a desire to make a real difference in your local community.

When you see our purple vests out in your precinct this weekend, we’re carrying a lot more than just a friendly smile. For our teams, helping the community means meeting people exactly where they are, with exactly what they need.

From providing vital first aid on the spot, to offering a calm, safe walk to your car or taxi at the end of the night, we are there to make sure a good night out doesn’t turn into a bad experience.

No judgment. No agenda. Just a community safety net when you need it most.

To every parent who worries when their young adult heads out for the night - we are your safety net. 💜

Every single message of gratitude we receive belongs entirely to the phenomenal volunteer crews who dedicate their Friday and Saturday nights to looking after our community. This moving feedback from a local Sunshine Coast parent highlights the exact heart of our mission: being there in the precise moment we are needed most.

Getting separated from friends while disoriented is a terrifying situation for any young person, and an agonising wait for any parent. Our Sunny Coast crew was honoured to step into the gap, keep her safe, and look after her until her mum could arrive.

Receiving feedback like this reminds us exactly why our purple vests are out there on the pavement every single weekend. We are so glad our team was in the right place at the right time to help.

It’s the simplest question, but it drives everything we do. Whether it’s patching up a scraped knee with our first aid kits, or walking you safely to your transport at 2 AM so you don't have to navigate the dark streets alone, our teams are there to bridge the gap.

We love our nightlife precincts, and we love keeping them safe.

A huge shout-out to the incredible team at Alexandra Headland Rotary Club ! 💜🩺

Thanks to their extraordinary generosity and dedicated community support, our Sunshine Coast ChaplainWatch crew has received a massive first-aid overhaul!

Outdated stock has been cleared out and fully replenished with fresh medical supplies - including a brand-new oxygen kit bag and regulator.

Having reliable, top-tier first aid gear on hand means our frontline teams can respond swiftly and safely when "good times go bad" across the Coast.

25 YEARS OF WATCHING OVER OUR STREETS! 💜✨

A quarter of a century ago, Lance had a vision: to create an intentional safety net and ensure our young people made it home safely from a night out in the Valley.

What started as a dedicated presence on the pavement 25 years ago has grown into a life-saving movement across multiple regions, stepping in when "good times go bad."

Today, we honour Lance for the heart, courage, and grit it took to lay the foundation of ChaplainWatch.

Night after night, weekend after weekend, our purple-vested crews have:
💜 Provided vital first aid and comfort
💜 Reunited separated friends
💜 Offered a safe place to rest and recover
💜 Been a calm, steady light in moments of crisis

Through late nights, rain, chaos, and crisis, you show up with a calm presence, a listening ear, and a heart that cares.
