🇫🇯💙 We were honoured to join the Ratu Sukuna Day celebration yesterday at the Fiji High Commission in Canberra, commemorating the life and legacy of Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna, one of Fiji’s most influential leaders and a visionary who helped shape the nation we know today.

The Canberra Fijian Association was proud to collaborate with the Fiji-Australia Association of the ACT (FAA ACT), who led the organisation of this special event, alongside Ignite City Life Church and Ratu Sukuna Vuli Oti (RSVO).

The celebration brought together members of the Fijian community for cultural presentations, talanoa, fellowship and reflection on the enduring values of leadership, service and unity that Ratu Sukuna championed throughout his life.

Vinaka vakalevu to FAA ACT, the Fiji High Commission, RSVO, Ignite City Life Church and everyone who contributed to making the event such a memorable occasion.

🏆🇫🇯⚽️ Sharing the victory with Fiji’s High Commissioner to Australia, His Excellency Mr. Ajay Bhai Amrit.

Following Canberra Sanatan Masters’ incredible win at the Sanatan Convention Masters competition in Fiji this past weekend, our Canberra Fijian Association President, Mr Vinesh Chand had the honour of sharing the win with His Excellency at the Fiji High Commission in Canberra.

The team’s success was built on determination, teamwork and the strong support of our Fijian communities in Australia, who stood behind the boys throughout the journey.

Vinaka vakalevu to everyone who supported the team and helped make this achievement possible. We are proud to bring the trophy home to Canberra and share this special moment with our wider Fijian community - we will be soon hosting a celebration to mark this occasion 🇫🇯⚽🏆

The Canberra Fijian Association Masters are proud winners of the Sanatan Masters competition in Navua, Fiji! 🇫🇯⚽

What a super effort from the boys. After the tournament was postponed during Easter due to the cyclone, the team returned to Fiji to finish the job and make all the hard work, sacrifice and commitment truly worth it.

A huge thank you to all the players who joined the squad from inter-state and Fiji. You boys made this team what it was and we couldn’t have done it without you. 💪

💙🇫🇯 Giving back to our roots

The Canberra Fijian Association had the privilege of supporting Treasure House Children’s Home in Nadi with donations for the school year. What started as a simple initiative turned into something far more meaningful.

Through the generosity of our community, we were able to provide:
📚 School books and stationery
🛒 Groceries and snacks

But beyond the donations, the most special part was spending time with the children, sharing laughs, stories and moments we will never forget. It was an emotional and deeply fulfilling experience for everyone involved.

🇫🇯⚽ We’re proud to share some moments from the Canberra Masters Soccer team at this year’s Sanatan soccer competition in Fiji over the Easter weekend.

An incredible trip filled with brotherhood, culture and some good football. From the first whistle, the team showed skill, resilience and great spirit on and off the field.

📊 Our results:
• Group stage: Canberra 1 – 1 Nasinu
• Group stage: Canberra 8 – 1 Seweni
• Quarter-final: Canberra 2 – 0 Votualevu

We made it into the semi-finals, but unfortunately the competition was postponed due to severe weather and cyclone warnings.

While we didn’t get to finish the tournament, the experience was bigger than the result. Strong performances, great team bonding, and memories that will last a lifetime.

❤️ Vinaka vakalevu to our Canberra community for making a difference in Fiji.

The Canberra Fijian Association, in collaboration with the Fiji Australia Association Of ACT Inc. is proud to have supported the donation of wheelchairs and walkers to hospitals and health centres across Fiji through the incredible team at Corona Fiji.

Thanks to the generosity of our Canberra community and supporters, these essential mobility aids have now been delivered to several medical facilities across Fiji, including:
🏥 CWM Hospital – Suva
🏥 Sigatoka Hospital
🏥 Navua Hospital
🏥 Lautoka Hospital
🏥 Nailaga Health Centre

These donations are helping improve patient comfort, dignity and mobility, while also supporting the dedicated healthcare workers caring for our communities.

What an incredible & successful Traditional Fijian Lovo fundraiser we had today. Huge thanks to everyone who helped from last night’s preparation through to the packing this morning and most importantly to our amazing community for supporting this fundraiser for charity & our club’s soccer team.

We are especially proud to share that we received 100% positive feedback, with so many messages and calls, telling us how delicious the food was. That support truly means everything to us.
