🌱 Reflecting on the June Wangmann Memorial Lecture

In July, our Program Manager, Tash, attended the June Wangmann Memorial Lecture, where keynote speaker Peter Hurley explored Beyond Price and Access: The Next Frontiers in a Universal Early Childhood Education and Care System.

The lecture delved into some of the sector’s biggest challenges, from accessibility gaps and rising costs, to how public investment can better support quality and equity in early learning. A key takeaway was the reminder that access alone doesn’t guarantee outcomes, and that strengthening educator and family support is essential to meaningful early learning experiences.

It was amazing to have the opportunity to connect with leading researchers and educators, continuing conversations about the importance of inclusion, workforce development, and building a strong, evidence-informed early childhood sector.

We’re grateful to have been part of this event, which continues to inspire our work towards a more equitable and sustainable early childhood education system. 🌿
