Woden Throwdown 2026 was awesome! 10th year running and one of the best ever. The turnout, level of skating and enthusiasm made putting it on all worthwhile. We didn’t have a filmer or photographer, but we will try to put together a highlight video if we can (send us clips). Props to Sunny for winning the $500 MVP prize. Props to Joshua Ranga Stanley and Lucas for the tie on a 3.6 meter long ollie. Shout out to the girls who killed it, and everyone else who took home cash and product for skating today. Stay tuned for more content from the day. Will see you all next year!

WODEN THROWDOWN POSTPONED until tomorrow (Sunday). Sorry everyone! The park is washed out and storms are forecasted this afternoon. The weather is forecasted to be sunny all day tomorrow, so we’ll postpone and try again!

The Draft ACT Skate Strategy is live, and this is our biggest opportunity in over a decade to shape the future of skateboarding and skateparks in Canberra!

The ACT Government is asking for our community’s feedback via a YourSay survey. For years, we’ve fought for a coordinated approach to our facilities, some of our current parks are outdated, in disrepair, or lacking modern street elements. This strategy is the direct result of community advocacy and an official inquiry into our local skateparks.

ACT government needs to hear directly from skateboarders and skatepark users. If we want high-quality and modern skateparks, spots and spaces in Canberra, we have to demand them.

🛹 What we could to tell them:

* Build new public skateparks: No new public skateparks have been built in the ACT for 15 years.
* Fix up our current public skateparks: Many of our existing facilities are getting older and need better maintenance.
* Modern design features: We need contemporary street elements, transition features, proper lighting, and integrated shade. What else would you like to see?
* More skate elements in recreation spaces: We need skateable spaces, paths, and elements integrated safely into local playgrounds and town centres.
