WHAT DSMRA DOES FOR YOU
The DSMRA provides you, the member with a social network of like minded riders that want to go out and enjoy trail riding. Everywhere we go we have fun and ride responsibly. We provide lead and sweep riders and carry two way radios, epirb emergency beacons that will provide emergency assistance via ambulance (conventional or air) and we provide a support group to you, the r

ider. Although you still have to do your own tyre changes and cop the odd offhand comments. We take you to areas you may have never seen before, all the time offering the cornerman system (which means you don't need to know where you are going or how to get back). We provide for all levels of difficulty and will provide advice to beginners, and even teach you the basic skills so you can ride your bike better. Of course you must be licensed and your must be bike registered.

🏍️⚡ HUGE NEWS — DSMRA Receives $21,332 Climate Action Grant!

The ACT Government has awarded the DSMRA ACT Branch a Communities Climate Action Grant to fund our complete transition from petrol-powered to battery and solar-powered trail maintenance equipment.

What does this mean?

✅ Zero-emission trail maintenance in Kowen Forest
✅ Battery-powered chainsaws, brush cutters, hedge trimmers & blowers
✅ Solar charging infrastructure for off-grid operations
✅ Two Stark Varg electric motorcycles already being used for track prep
✅ Dramatically reduced noise pollution for locals and wildlife

At the ministerial launch on 18 May, DSMRA National President Rob McKimm joined Minister for Climate Change Suzanne Orr to announce the grant.

"We're a not-for-profit organisation with families — sons and daughters — who we want to see enjoy the outdoors for generations to come. This grant from the ACT Government recognises that our sport can be part of the environmental solution, not the problem."

The DSMRA has over 800 members nationally and close to 200 in the ACT. We're a national motorsport organisation with branches in Far North Queensland, Sydney, Bathurst, Victoria and the ACT.

Without support like this, our transition to a greener sport would simply not be possible. We're not just talking about it. We're doing it.

Yea baby!

Yea baby!

Its COMING! Apologies for the delays and appreciate all the messages. YES we will be running Kowen again this year. The date is locked in, permits granted. We will hopefully open registrations in the next fortnight and will post everywhere when it does! Plenty of fresh tracks going in, should be a cracker event.

Fellow Riders! A quick one to put on your radar: we're holding a General Meeting tomorrow night, Tuesday 12 May at 7:30pm at the Burns Club, Kambah.

The riding season is kicking off hard and there's a lot happening that we need the membership's input on:

Coastal Convoy — routes, logistics, timing (13th June only a month away!)
Kowen Forest Ride — planning's underway and we want your ideas on trail setup and format
A media launch surprise — something we're putting together that's worth getting behind together
General business — anything you want on the table. More rides?

These meetings only work when we show up. If we've all just been riding and never got a chance to talk properly, this is your chance. We value your feedback

Good drinks, good company, and real decisions get made when you're in the room.

Hope to see you there! 🏍️ PFA

The first ride of our Signature series is coming up and entries are now open on the club website.
The BONDO BASH is not one to miss!
Hugely popular with everyone that has attended, this is a tough one. If we are lucky we'll get some rain to really up the difficulty level on the clay muddy tracks..
We have undertaken a few working bees to clean up the trails from the 2025 event (massive storms had major impacts on most of the trails) but they are back to flow central! If your keen to get amongst it - only 1.5hr drive from Canberra.
Jump on the club website and check out the calander for 18th April 2026 to book your spot. Capped at 25 riders max. Hope to see you there! Braaap
