🚨 National AusAlert Test – Monday 27 July at 2:00 pm
A nationwide AusAlert test will take place on Monday 27 July 2026 at 2:00 pm (AEST).
During the test, compatible mobile phones and devices across Australia will:
📳 Vibrate
🚨 Emit a loud siren-like sound for around 10 seconds
📱 Display a priority notification on the screen
The alert may activate even if your phone is locked or you’re using another app or on a call.
For some people, including those who are sensitive to loud or unexpected sounds, this alert may be distressing or startling.
If you support someone who may be affected, consider:
• Talking to them about the test beforehand
• Reassuring them that it is only a test and there is no emergency
• Using headphones, moving to a quiet space, or making other arrangements if helpful
• Letting family members, carers or visitors know about the test
If you or someone you support would prefer not to receive the test alert, you can:
✈️ Turn your phone to aeroplane mode before 2:00 pm, or
📴 Turn your device off before 2:00 pm
Your device can be returned to normal once the testing period has passed.
