Exciting news alert. We are finalists again! 🎉

Heart Support Australia is honoured to be named a Finalist for NGO of the Year at the Health Industry Hub Catalysts for Change Awards 2026.

For the second year in a row, we have been selected as a finalist for NGO of the Year. A wonderful achievement made even more special as we celebrate our 40th anniversary.

This nomination is a reflection of the incredible work our staff and volunteers do every day to improve the lives of Australians living with heart disease. ❤️

A huge thank you to the Health Industry Hub team for creating a space for these important conversations, shining a light on the issues affecting our sector, and giving organisations like ours the opportunity to share the work we do.

The awards night will take place later this year — so fingers crossed! 🤞

🎉 Exciting news alert - We are finalists! 🎉

Heart Support Australia and Advara HeartCare are honoured to be named as a Finalist together for Advocacy Champion in the Top Podcasts and Vodcasts category at this year’s Health Industry Hub Catalysts for Change Awards.

🎙️ World Heart Day sparks call for a ‘real shift’ in priorities and mindset, as leaders from Advara HeartCare and Heart Support Australia bring the patient and clinician voices together to explore the challenges facing cardiovascular healthcare in Australia.

A huge thank you to Advara HeartCare CEO Dr David O'Donnell for being part of this important conversation with our CEO Dr Christian Verdicchio and discussing the barriers experienced by both patients and clinicians across our healthcare system.

Thank you to Rozalina Sarkezians and the Health Industry Hub team for creating the opportunity for this conversation to happen and for helping bring these important issues to the attention of the sector.

Our Gosford Peer Support Group had its latest session with Dietician Jo Allen and a special guest the Mayor of Central Coast Council Lawrie McKinna in attendance and supporting the local group.

Thank you to our group leader Sara Fraser for leading these monthly sessions and raising awareness about the importance of peer support for those living with heart disease. ❤️

We have some amazing news! 😍

Heart Support Australia's Cholesterol Awareness Week 2025 campaign in partnership with Advara HeartCare has been selected as a Top 5 Finalist for the Outstanding Patient Campaign Award in the 2026 Patients' Choice Awards.

Patient campaigns play an important role in raising awareness and improving outcomes for the people they reach. This was recognised through nomination and public voting for its impact on patient care and outcomes.

The winner will be annoucnced in late August at the Patients Australia Awards Gala 🏆❤️

The Heart Support Australia Gold Coast Peer Support Group was delighted to participate in the Wellbeing Expo hosted by the North Gold Coast Sub-Branch RSL Inc on July 4th, where we had the opportunity to engage with veterans and their families, highlighting the significance of heart health and the role of our support group in the region ❤️
