This week we had Cr Julia Dixon speak about projects in our area, it’s not all Rates, Roads and Rubbish, so much more that happens behind the scenes.

It was a pleasure to be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Brisbane Airport’s meeting this morning!

It was a fantastic event, and I loved the opportunity to connect with everyone. A big thank you to the entire Rotary team for the warm welcome and for making it such a wonderful morning! 👏

Why cook lunch tomorrow, when you can come to Bunnings Virginia. We will gladly cook it for you and also sell you some cold drinks! We even do the washing up!

All the while you will be supporting some wonderful causes both locally, nationally and around the globe.

C10067908 : Another Collection on it’s way to Containers for Change - or as we at BNE Airport Rotary call it “Containers for Charity” - Thanks to the team today which consisted of Denis, Lloyd, Troy, Peter and Liz. The more we collect the more we donate to worthy charities. You can always drop off your empties at any collection point and quote Account No: C10067908 and the funds will be directed to our Community Account - 100% of it goes to Charities!

Another worthy cause that we supported today - Little Wings is an organisation that helps children under 18 in remote areas to access Partnered Hospital Care for their ongoing treatment. While Flying Doctors and other Emergency Services provide excellent immediate access, they do not stretch to the ongoing services required - typically they fly them to the city and back home within the day, thereby freeing up beds in hospitals and saving very long road trips - do check out the wonderful work they do

Our guest speaker this week was David, the principal of Aviation High School at Hendra. We support an Interact Club at the school and have two students from the school attend our meetings each week during school term. David outlined the pathways offered at the school and shared results of a survey which showed why the students chose the school.
