The Clayfield Toombul RSL Sub Branch extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and fellow cadets of Brayden McDonald following his tragic passing.

Brayden was a young whose enthusiasm, commitment and friendship left a lasting impression on those who knew him. His loss is being felt deeply by his family, his Cadet Unit and the wider community.

This week, fellow cadets, staff and supporters came together to honour Brayden’s life through a Reflection and Parade Ground Service, a fitting tribute to a young man who embraced the values of service, mateship and community.

As veterans, we understand the strength of the bonds formed through shared experiences, whether in uniform or within the cadet movement.

The Australian Army Cadets play an important role in developing young Australians, building confidence, leadership and a sense of belonging. Brayden was part of that family.

At times such as these, words can never fully ease the pain of loss. What remains is the memory of a life that touched others and the support of a community standing beside those who grieve.

On behalf of our members, we offer our sincere sympathies to Brayden’s family and all those affected by this tragedy.

Lest We Forget.

This year marks the 82nd anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France.

D-Day marked the beginning of the Allied liberation of Europe from N**i occupation during World War II. On 6 June 1944, the largest armada of ships ever assembled, and more than 10,000 supporting aircraft, stormed the beaches of Normandy.

Approximately 3,000 Australians participated in the D-Day landings. Royal Australian Air Force squadrons provided cover by bombing German military units, while Australian Army and Royal Australian Navy personnel took part in the land and sea invasion. More than 4,000 lives were lost on D-Day.

Lest we forget.
