We have a brand-new menu this week and we’re so excited for the kids to try it! 🥣🍕

This one's taking us through to the end of term. 😉

Mondays, we're serving up a big warming veggie soup, packed with seasonal vegetables and beans with a freshly baked cheesy wholemeal focaccia on the side. The kind of lunch that sets you up for some serious learning in the classroom 🧀🥦

Wednesdays and Fridays, it's PIZZAAAA squares! Wholemeal base, topped generously with our signature tomato and seven-veg sauce, seasonal toppings and loads of yummy melty cheese. Can’t wait to get a big bite! 🍕🧀

Still made from scratch using fresh and local ingredients.

We've got some big news for you from the Healthy Lunch Kitchen. We have a new chef!

Say hello to Lachie Mooney, who has recently joined us to help create even more delicious, nutritious meals for Ballarat schools.

A true local, Lachie attended Sebastopol College, completed his VCAL, and trained as a chef right here in the community.

A dad of five gorgeous children, Lachie truly gets the challenge and importance of cooking "healthy" for growing kids.

We're so excited with Lachie onboard as we get ready to expand our reach to more school communities. We certainly can't wait to get everyone to try our new products, soon!

Welcome to the team, Lachie! We're all eager to see HLK grow with more creative and nutritious meals!

We are shaping Healthy Cities Australia! Our CEO was invited to a roundtable this week in Sydney to shape this World Health Organisation initiative for Australia. It is great to work with Kelly Andrews CEO of Healthy Cities Australia, Angie Deegan from City of Melbourne and Jinhee Kim from UNSW Cities Institute and many others.
Our work in building wellbeing communities, and healthy places like schools and communities, and our support of local governments in health and wellbeing matters and informs national movements! A field of greens and a community-led project is our happy place! We just love our job and our partnerships - we had the privilege of facilitating the Farm My School Colac strategy day on a magnificent sunny day at the Colac Secondary College yesterday - what a team! what a farm! We are so privileged at Health Futures to provide opportunities for many university students each year to do their community, public health and clinical placements with us. This year already has been very busy with 7 students - 4 Masters of Dietetics students from Monash Uni in partnership with City of Ballarat and 3 final year medical students from the University of Melbourne. Here’s wonderful Dan, a final year medical student who spent the day with us in Ballarat immersing in the work of the Healthy Lunch Kitchen at Phoenix P-12 Community College
