Bit of a buzz at BGT on Monday...
Prospective Cert III in Barbering students wandered through the doors of the Barkly Hair Institute, some with parents in tow, all curious about what a future in barbering might look like. They met Vincent, explored the training space, and asked questions.
One of the highlights of the evening was hearing from BGT graduates Noah, Lewis and Zac, who spoke about their experiences and where the course has taken them. Current student Jeremy also shared what life at the Institute is like right now, giving guests a genuine insight into the journey.
What made the night particularly special, though, was seeing the broader BGT team there as well. CEO Wayne O'Toole, Sunny Kumar and Lynette Clarke weren't there because they had to be. They were there because that's who BGT is.
When a new opportunity is being created for the community, people get behind it. They turn up. They have conversations. They make introductions. They help people feel welcome.
There is a genuine belief across the organisation that changing someone's future can start with a simple conversation and a bit of encouragement.
The whole evening had a relaxed, positive energy about it.
And the best part?
Six people have already enrolled.
Not a bad result for a night built around conversation, connection and opportunity.
