Congratulations to Babies Above, our first $1,000 Community Grants winner!

Thanks to the incredible support of our customers and local community, Babies Above has received the most votes in our first fortnightly grant round.

The $1,000 will help fund spaces for peer-support groups for families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or baby, as well as contribute towards the thoughtfully curated care boxes and bags provided to families in hospital.

A heartfelt thank you to Hoppys Place Rescue Inc. and MooraFun Inc. for participating and sharing their important work, remembering that these not for profits don’t go home empty handed and have immediate access to a community BBQ for fund raising purposes.

Our next three community groups will be introduced tomorrow, ready for voting to begin!

✨TONIGHT✨

Join us at Lake Wendouree for the Global Wave of Light. We will have LED candles available to light at 7pm.

Arrive from 6.30pm and stay for as long or little as you like.

The Lake Fountain and Town Hall Clock Tower will also be lit pink and blue for International Pregnancy & Baby Loss Awareness Month.

Please note there may be babies, children and pregnant women in attendance.

🎉 WE’VE BEEN SELECTED! 🎉

We’re incredibly excited to announce that Babies Above has been selected as one of three local organisations competing in the very first round of The Stockman’s Table Community Grants!

The winning group will receive a $1,000 community grant, and we need your help to bring it home.
If we win, the funding will be used to continue our peer support groups and provide our care boxes and bags to hospitals.

Voting runs from Saturday 10 October until Sunday 25 October.

Our next peer support group will be held on Wednesday 14th of October at 7pm at Vickers St Community Hub - Sebastapol. This group will focus on stillbirth.

We understand that grief can feel isolating and we hope this group provides comfort, connection and healing through shared experiences. Whether you’re seeking guidance, a listening ear, or a sense of community, this group is here for you.

All partners, friends and support people are welcome to attend.
We gently ask that no babies or children attend so we can support all parents in their different types and stages of loss.

October is International Pregnancy and Baby Loss Awareness Month.

Throughout the month we have some events and opportunities to come together, reflect, remember and connect. We hope there is something that resonates with everyone, wherever you may be on your journey.

Be gentle with yourselves this month. Take part, step back, engage, or simply hold space in whatever way feels right for you.

🕯️GLOBAL WAVE OF LIGHT | THURSDAY 15 OCTOBER🕯️

Babies Above invites our community to join us at Lake Wendouree, Ballarat for a special evening of remembrance for the Global Wave of Light.

📍 Where: The rotunda down from The Boatshed at Lake Wendouree, Ballarat (see map attached)
🕡 Meet: 6.30pm for candle lighting at 7pm
🕯️Bring a candle and picnic rug/chair

The Global Wave of Light is an annual event where families across the world light a candle at 7pm local time to remember their babies. As the time reaches 7pm in each time zone, a wave of light travels around the globe creating a continuous flow of light, love and remembrance for babies who are no longer with us but held in our hearts.

Bring along a candle for your baby if you can. If the weather is windy, don’t worry, we will have LED candles available so everyone can still take part safely.

The Lake Wendouree Fountain will be lit pink and blue in recognition of International Pregnancy and Baby Loss Awareness Day and Month creating a beautiful backdrop as we come together to remember our babies.

Come along with your family, friends or support people. Stay as long as you like.
