Yesterday, our Social Hub participants enjoyed a wonderful day focused on health, wellbeing, creativity, and connection.
A special thank you to Louise and Preety for delivering an engaging Sleep and Fatigue Workshop, helping our seniors learn practical strategies to improve their wellbeing. The workshop was followed by a relaxing meditation session, providing an opportunity to unwind and recharge.
Our creative activity for the day was therapeutic clay making, with participants enjoying the calming and mindful benefits of working with clay while creating their own unique pieces.
After a warm and delicious lunch, Tashka and Robyn from Ballarat Community Health joined us to provide health checks and valuable health advice, supporting our seniors to stay informed and proactive about their health.
And of course, a very special thank you to Lola, our BRMC furry friend, whose friendly visits, cuddles, and wagging tail brought plenty of smiles and joy to everyone in the room. 🐾❤️

BRMC stands with FECCA in rejecting calls for a so-called "monocultural Australia.
Australia doesn't need a monoculture to be united. Our strength comes from shared values, mutual respect, and the contributions of people from every background who call this country home.
Now more than ever, we must reject division and continue building a nation where everyone can belong, contribute, and thrive.

FECCA Rejects Pauline Hanson’s call for ‘Monoculturalism’ Senator Pauline Hanson’s address to the National Press Club, in which she described multiculturalism as a failed policy and called for a “monocultural” Australia is of great concern to FECCA. We reject this completely. Ms Hanson.....

This week’s Storytime session focused on the important topic of Safety! 🌟

We read the story “Sammy the Safe Star,” which helped children understand how to stay safe in different situations.

The story was shared in three different languages – Mandarin, Hindi, and Thok Naath, making the session inclusive and engaging for children from diverse backgrounds.

Children also enjoyed a fun traffic light craft activity, where they created their own traffic lights and learned about the meaning of red, yellow, and green signals in an interactive way.
This was our final Storytime session for the term, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next term for more fun learning together! 🌞

Homework Club Highlights – Last Two Weeks!
The past two weeks at Homework Club have been filled with fun, creativity, and learning through drama!
Our students worked in groups and brought popular stories to life, including The Gingerbread Man, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, and a fun Pirates Play.
The children were incredibly enthusiastic—eagerly reading their scripts, practising together, and confidently performing in front of their peers. It was wonderful to see their excitement and teamwork shine through!
These activities not only helped strengthen their literacy and reading skills but also encouraged them to build confidence speaking and performing in front of a group.
We are so proud of our young performers and their amazing effort!

Playgroup Highlights – Emotional Wellbeing Week 💝

Last week at playgroup, we focused on Emotional Wellbeing, supporting children to understand and express their feelings.

We read the lovely story “The Little Cloud with Big Feelings” ☁️, which helped children explore different emotions in a simple and relatable way.

The children enjoyed showing different emotions through expressions and play, making the session fun and interactive. 😊😢😄
We also did a creative face mask decorating activity 🎭, where children decorated masks to represent different feelings—an enjoyable way to express themselves through art!
It was a meaningful session filled with creativity, learning, and lots of smiles.

🌏✨ **Cultural Competency Training in Stawell – Making a Difference Together** ✨🌏

Earlier this month, we had the privilege of delivering Cultural Competency Training for the Northern Grampians Shire in Stawell. It was a valuable opportunity to come together, reflect, learn, and strengthen our understanding of working respectfully and effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the conversations, reflections, and shared learning throughout the session.

Here’s some of the wonderful feedback we received:

💬 *"Please keep doing what you are doing — you are inspiring so many people to be their best for community."*

💬 *"Grateful for the stories shared. It opened my eyes to the need for self-reflection of unconscious bias."*

These reflections remind us why this work matters. Cultural competency is an ongoing journey of learning, listening, and self-awareness that helps create more inclusive services, workplaces, and communities for everyone.

Thank you to the Northern Grampians Shire Council for your engagement and commitment to building a more welcoming and inclusive region.

Refugee Week 2026 | A Million Stories

This morning, community leaders, members, and organisations came together at the Ballarat Intercultural Garden for the Refugee Week Flag Raising Ceremony.

The event was a meaningful opportunity to recognise the strength, resilience, and contributions of people from refugee backgrounds who help make our community vibrant and welcoming.

Thank you to everyone who joined us as we celebrated diversity, inclusion, and the spirit of belonging in Ballarat.
