At The Darbon Institute we support the right of every person to grow up free from medically unnecessary bodily alterations when they are too young to consent to such cosmetic procedures themselves.

That includes inters*x people who have innate variations in their bodies that mean they are not typically female or male, and who are often subjected to harmful and unnecessary interventions including hormone injections and s*x reassignment surgeries.

As Victoria prepares to ban unnecessary surgeries for inters*x children, a new report says some hospitals appear to keep no records justifying surgeries.

The Darbon Institute is deeply saddened to learn news this morning of the passing of Cyrille Roger from Droit au Corps.

The Board, and especially our Executive Officer Tim Arkell who had the distinct honour of meeting Cyrille in Cologne last year for WWDOGA, extend our deepest sympathy to Cyrille's colleagues at Droit au Corps and to his family and friends.

Today we wear the Droit au Corps badge to honour Cyrille’s memory.
