Who wants to come riding with us? 😁🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

Bike SA has invited Gus and me to join Ride for Her on Sunday 15 November at Bonython Park… and they’ve also given us 10 tickets to give away! 🙌🎉

We thought it would be much more fun to turn them into 5 x double passes, so every winner can bring someone along and come ride with us 😁

What I really love about this event is that it has something for everyone, whether you’re brand new to riding, bringing the family, riding an e-bike or looking for something a little more challenging.

You can choose from:

🚴 Family River Ride — 2km, 5km or 10km along the River Torrens

🚴 River Ride — a longer riverside option with flexible distances

🚴 Beach Ride — 40km through Port Adelaide and along the coast

🚴 Harbour Ride — 55km taking in Outer Harbour and Adelaide’s beaches

🚴 Hills Ride — 50km with around 800m of climbing for those looking for a bit more of a challenge 😁⛰️

The routes are supported with signage, ride marshals and refreshment stops where applicable, and afterwards there’ll be food, music and entertainment back at the event village Woohoo! 🎉

Ride for Her also helps raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research, with fundraising and donations supporting Flinders Foundation through Tour de Cure.

Fundraising is completely optional though... everyone is welcome to register, choose the ride that suits them and simply come along and enjoy the day 💛

BikeSA was thrilled to welcome Rhiannon Pearce MP and Joe Szakacs MP to our Office Launch Party this afternoon.

Our launch was about more than moving into the Adelaide C*D. It marked a fresh direction for BikeSA, with a focus on connecting with our community, strengthening partnerships and helping more South Australians enjoy riding.

Thank you to our volunteers, partners, Board, staff and friends of BikeSA who joined us to celebrate. Your support is central to everything we do.

BikeSA welcomes the South Australian Government’s $2 million investment through the State Bicycle Fund, supporting projects worth more than $5 million across Adelaide and regional SA.

Highlights include:
• Another 3km of the Amy Gillett Bikeway
• Cyclist signal upgrades at South Terrace and Pulteney Street
• Safer slip lane crossings on the Coast to Vines Trail
• A new signal-controlled crossing on Morphett Road for the Westside Bikeway

More than two-thirds of respondents to our recent advocacy survey identified a lack of safe infrastructure as a barrier to cycling. These projects will help address that concern.

We welcome the State Government’s support and the contributions of participating councils to making cycling safer and more accessible.

When people feel safe, more people ride.

Our client was knocked off his bike by a truck while riding to work. Thankfully, he was okay, but his carbon fibre racing bike, bike computer, helmet and cleats were all but wrecked. We secured a cash settlement covering the full retail replacement cost of his damaged gear, so he can get kitted out again and get back on the road.
