Grandma’s Supper Club x Warndu - First Nations Edition 🖤💛❤️

This Sunday, we gather to celebrate the food, cultures and enduring knowledge of the world’s oldest continuing living cultures, here, on Kaurna Yarta, the land we are so fortunate to call home.

We’re honoured to welcome founder of the Granny Skills Movement Rebecca Sullivan and Adnyamathanha and Dieri person, international artist and cultural educator Damien Coulthard, founders of Warndu, for an evening celebrating Australian Native Food and the deep connection between food, culture and country.

Authors of Warndu Mai and First Nations Food Companion, Rebecca and Damien have dedicated their work to sharing and preserving the stories, knowledge and incredible ingredients of this continent.

This supper about recognising that the ingredients on our table have been known, cultivated, cared for and consumed by First Nations peoples for tens of thousands of years and acknowledging the deep knowledge, responsibility and care connected to country. It’s about celebrating cultures and traditions that remain very much alive today.

And, as always, your ticket helps extend the table beyond the room, providing meals to First Nations community members.

🇮🇹 What a night. ✨

Our Italian edition of Grandma’s Supper Club x Olio was everything we hoped for. Three courses of comfort, treasured recipes passed down from Vincenza’s two nonnas, and a room full of people gathered around the table the way food is meant to be enjoyed.

But the magic did not stop there. On the same day, the meals were shared with people experiencing hardship and homelessness across Adelaide. Every seat at the table helped feed someone who needed it most. 🫶🏼

And we are just getting started.

🌟 Compassion starts early, and kindness has no age limit. 🌟

Human Appeal Australia hosted our very first Junior Ambassadors Program in Adelaide, bringing children and families together for a day of creativity, learning, and giving back. 💚

Through Cupcakes with Kindness 🧁, our young ambassadors decorated cupcakes to share with people in need, learning that even small acts of kindness can create a big impact.

They also received a beautiful reminder from Sister Flora from Amanah Institute about the importance of helping others and giving without expecting anything in return.

A special thank you to Sister Flora, Amanah Institute, and Sister Fatema from Shirni Parwana for helping make this day possible.

We’re excited to continue inspiring the next generation of compassionate changemakers. 🌱

The table was set. The food was amazing. The vibes? Unmatched. 🇲🇾💚
Grandma’s Supper Club, Malaysia Edition brought together a three-course Malay feast, a cultural items auction, a fierce Kahoot, and brilliant prizes from Truly Malaysian Village and 5K Burgers. One unforgettable night.
Before the first plate was served, meals were already packed and on their way to people facing hardship in our community. Then we sat down and enjoyed every bite together. 🫶🏼

The next edition is already on the horizon. 🇮🇹✨
