It’s been a landmark year for Foundation SA with the appointment of our inaugural Board of Directors and months of behind-the-scenes activity culminating in our successful transition to independence.

📈 In our first five years of operation, we’ve distributed $2.59 million in grants together with our donor community which has grown to include 57 Sub-funds.

In FY 2025/26 $592,977 was granted providing valuable support to 77 organisations.

🌱 Our Neighbourhood Grants round was boosted by the success of our fundraising campaign which raised $66,720 which was distributed across 16 community-led initiatives that are building wellbeing, inclusivity and resilience.

🌈 GiveOUT Day is this Thursday (15 October), and 147 LGBTQIA+ not-for-profits are taking part this year, the biggest line-up yet for Australia’s national giving day for LGBTQIA+ causes.

68% of LGBTQIA+ causes do not have secure resourcing beyond 12 months despite increasing demand from communities.

This year's theme, 'Make Your Move', invites supporters to get involved in three ways: Give, Gather or Gush. Eligible donations are doubled!

It's Adelaide Climate Action Week (ACAW)! This week hundreds of people will be taking part in dozens of events across the city to help catalyse South Australia's transition to a climate-resilient, net-zero future. 🌱

ACAW is designed to bring all levels of society together - connecting grassroots communities with government, industry, and research leaders. From concerned parents to boardroom decision-makers — effective climate action requires everyone at the table.

New grant opportunity! 🎉

SA Women for Women has launched its first Community Grant round with grants (up to $10,000) available for grassroots non-profits delivering initiatives that support women and girls in South Australia.

These Community Grants, funded by the collective generosity of SA Women for Women Giving Circle members, support community-led solutions, amplify local impact and back organisations working to improve outcomes in education, employment, health, safe housing and wellbeing.

A special invitation: Join us this Adelaide Climate Action Week as we celebrate the launch of the South Australian Climate & Nature Fund - a brand-new, community-led way of funding grassroots environmental action across South Australia now and for generations to come.

At the launch we’ll hear from the always-inspiring Tiahni Adamson, National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Engagement Manager at Bush Heritage Australia, who will speak on the value of investing in nature, the importance of collaborative, community-led environmental leadership and what it takes to have strong stewardship in community.

About the Fund: The South Australian Climate & Nature Fund is a perpetual pool of funds, governed by Foundation SA and invested for long-term growth, that will flow out to local environmental and climate projects making a real difference on the ground.

The Fund is led by community. Instead of decisions being made from the top down, grants will be assessed and awarded by a Stewardship Committee of environmental leaders, ecological experts, funders and peak body representatives, putting the people closest to the work in the driver's seat.

Anyone can get involved. Foundation SA's tax-deductible structure enables donations from foundations, businesses, community members and everyone in between, helping build a lasting fund for SA's environment.

Backed by generous seed funding from the Terra Artemis Foundation, the Fund is open and ready to grow. 🌱
